The product is not even released (only rumored with a single source) that it's already a disappointment and buried.

FA35/2 is not bad lens, but 6 blade aperture is ugly and purple fringing + CA can also be ugly. But if they manage to replace aperture with 9 rounded blades and improve optics and add WR, it might result in interesting lens... HD FA 35/2.. why not.

And at least they can have some fast 35mm for their FF system with reduced development cost, because current situation is very bad in wide angle area.. and 35/2 can be more affordable than 35/1.4 which is also missing and probably is nowhere near delivery.

Screw drive is OK, but camera must be capable of nailing focus It allows for small size and extreme durability.

Now lets rework FA*24/2 into HD-DFA 24/2 WR and K1 FF system would be a bit more interesting...

...with uncrippled KAF bayonet mount , the name of which will be AP100.

HD FA35/2 and DA*11-18/2.8 are real lenses.

You aren't the only one waiting for that.

For me, the FA 32 rumor is non-news; it is virtually identical to a lens I could purchase from B&H today if I wanted to.

For me, the DA* 11-18 is good news - release of more DA lenses is assurance that the K-3ii replacement is on track.

I think that's a little optimistic - however, they do need to turn their attention to attracting new customers no, not satisfying old ones (easy with many, impossible with a few )
That is why I would be disappointed with any more screw-drive lenses; as someone who was a Canon user four years ago, I am quite sure that current users of other brands would view screw-drive AF as equivalent to an automobile that still had a crank instead of a self-starter.

I often ear a refrain: "Pentax hasn't a complete lens lineup" and we laugh at this because we know that we can bought terrific lenses from the past to these days. I think that Pentax want to avoid this refrain.

Geez, people lighten up a bit. Quite a bunch of different opinions regarding a re-release of an updated good lens. The important thing is that Ricoh is still in the game and continues to support the Pentax brand. Remember that nobody forced you to use their equipment. It was your decision to use Pentax or stay with the brand.

They must have an entire warehouse filled with old FA parts.
It was rumoured that when Hoya bought the company, they only made camera bodies so they could make money clearing the backlog of warehoused parts.

I believe that the Citroën 2CV could be crank-started right up to the end of production in 1990. Some people still bought them because they were fantastically simple and easy to fix and maintain, even if they were terribly primitive and maxed out at 29 horsepower.

It would be interesting if that's how Pentax decided to pivot. A fairly basic FF DLSR that's cheap and paired with simple and cheap glass like the updated 35mm F/2.0. Kind of the opposite of the bigger brands going mirrorless and upmarket in their path to FF. I don't think that the tea leaves are pointing towards that, it seems like something you'd have to sell a ton of to make money. I don't think I'd be interested, but if they were selling $800 FF camera kits with that 35mm lens some people might just buy it almost on a whim. $800 can seem cheap when the alternative is a $2500 basic kit. Targeted to people like me, who are not going to spend $4k or more to switch to FF.

Sony A7 full frame is already 800$. With kit lens 50mm it is 1000$. So these cheap things already exist. And any lens from any brand can be used with a an adapter.

Some additional information - release date: 22 February (and not 31 January as initially written)
So no reason for Westerner to stay up late.
