It's full frame full steam ahead--the K-3iii "flagship" is analogous to Ponce' De' Leon's "Fountain of Youth".
Here's another reality gut check: No new Pentax mirrorless is coming either. Last Fall, SIGMA, Panasonic and Leica agreed to an Leica T/L mount standard for mirrorless cameras and lenses. The new Lumix Full frame mirrorless (Sr/1) is pre-ordering now. It will use Leica, Sigma and Lumix lenses....Pentax can not compete against these companies and the NikCanOny oligarchy. I believe that Pentax/Ricoh will keep the niche that they have and eventually produce another APS-c offering, but the emphasis seems to be on promoting the "RICOH" brand at the moment.
Also, the 100th Anniversary of the Asahi brand (the creators of Pentax) may be overrated as Hoya owns the license to Pentax regardless and merged Asahi into their brand--Ricoh has no interest in Asahi and competes on certain levels with Hoya for opticals....I doubt the anniversary will be as ballyhooed as many here believe.
Ho Hum--new coatings and a screw drive lens....CP+ looks like another disappointment for Pentaxians. Don't like the GR iii either.
