I think thatís Sony E mount only, so there probably isnít a way to get the registration distance right on K-mount...

Would be cool, though...

Something that is not to be crossed?

Seriously though, I’m thinking it might be an APS-C lens.

I also have 15-30, I'd love to have something between 18-21 mm prime to have FF wide fun. So next time when traveling, or trying to be discreet like street shooting, I could just throw it on my camera and have a go. 15-30 will be noticed, unless you are in big city where no one cares.
I recently acquired a m20 f4 - it's pretty amazing how small that thing is - it reminds me a lot of the 15 on apsc. I've had a little bit of playing around with it, but not too much landscape wise. That is one of the great things about our Limited lenses - how easy they are to travel with!

It might be, but they have been talking of FF lenses on those things. There is already fisheye zoom for aps-c and there is DA21 lim and there is 55-300 zoom too. Those new red ones have been promised to be FF prosumer things. And that is the red color.

At current Pentax speed, we should be glad to get 70-200 and 85 this year.
Plus a surprise in lens or camera land.

If we get both of those lenses, this would be a very good year with 4 new lenses (counting the 35/2)! Add a camera to that, if they introduce one, would be stellar.

I expect you are correct. I had forgotten abiut the existence of the newish 55-300 DA lens. The lens on the roadmap would more likely be something in a similar focal length to that, probably with a similar aperture range, but with full frame coverage.

I hope that I'm correct about this. But this is also what I remember. It will be interesting, also if they are throwing in those revamped lenses, who knows what will be revamped next

I think they threw it in for two purposes:
a) they've run out of stock of the original smc and it is still the only FF 35 in their lineup - one of the most desired focal lengths
b) the new lens that many people hoped to be a 35, may actually be something like 28 or 30 1.4 which, btw, I would love (28 is my all time favourite)

I'd think that this out of stock option sounds quite reliable, if there is obvious demand, it would be foolish to not give that especially when you have one available.

Dunno if it is going to be other than 35/1,4 even if I would actually too prefer fast 31. Loving my 31, I have also several 28 mm lenses, but never really bonded with that on FF. I loved my SMC F 28/2,8 on K-7 and K-3.

I feel the same way about 28mm on full frame. Itís wide enough to gave all the wonkiness of a wide angle, but not a big enough field of view to make it worthwhile. The 31 is pretty much in the same category for me. I didnít own one until after I had bought the K10 and decided if I wanted a decent standard lens I had better pick one of them up.

I'm expecting at least two cameras for this, the Centenary, Year - a K-3ii replacement and another FF camera.
