The reference was to the Ricoh motto "currently working on it" sounds like a Ricoh rep does it not? The standard answers are....

Currently working on it
and
Under heavy development

I can imagine this lens will be Pentax ready before the next Ricoh/Pentax announcement cause these people are producing a product and Ricoh/Pentax is "watching the market"
OK, I understand now, and regrettably I agree with you.

I worry about ghosting, flare control and CA as much as MTF and distortion. Didn't see much info in the Kickstarter page on how well those problems are addressed.
From the previews I'm finding on-line, this lens is basically where telescopes and telephoto lenses 'meet'.

I'm not sure how telescopes handle ghosting, flare control, and CA, but this will provide whatever telescopes usually get.

The official Williams page uses the word "T-mount" to describe the mount provided.

Ideation! Without question the most cromulent word I've read in a very long time.
Cromulent?! That’s sending me to the dictionary 😎

Yeah, this is simply a short telescope by Williams Optics and you would use a normal T mount adapter on it. Why is there a kickstarter for it anyway? I've been following development of it because I do more astrophotography than anythign now.

Which leaves me wondering why he is developing special "mounts" for it, as indicated in message #9 above.

There is another manual kickstarter lens (price level around $700):

Ultra Versatile Telephoto Lens, Redcat 250mm f/4.9 by James Yang ? Kickstarter

On the images it says Pentax mounts, bot nowhere else. I would assume the just add an adapter ring.
Man, the promo video for it has tooo many fast transitions. Just because you could, doesn't mean you should!

I've bought things from Williams before, and they are a solid company. That said, there's probably better options than this already available in Pentax lenses for less money. If you can find the Tak 200 F3.5 in good condition for instance.
The one thing a good telescope design does give you is usually an option for much more fine focus control than is typically possible with the barrel focusers on lenses..
