HD Pentax-DA★ 11-18mm f/2.8 - some local indoors pre-series test shots

A German dealer just had a pre-series HD Pentax-DA★ 11-18mm f/2.8 on the small local photo fair "Mundologia".
One forist grabbed to opportunity to shoot some sample shots. Obviously indoors is not anywhere near a good scenario for this lens, but it is as it is.

Here are the shots:

The lens: http://h2097500.stratoserver.net/forumimages/2019/6568/6568_2019020929_k12003-2.jpg

What is surprising, that FF 18 mm shot looks quite okay! Wonder how wide you get untill there is something like @11 mm FF shot.. that did surprise me.

Good to see the test shots coming! Judging from the other examples 11-18 and revamped 35mm F2 on january 31? - Page 63 - PentaxForums.com
it looks like Pentax perhaps made the image circle at 11mm a bit to small again (da15). To early to tell but there's a sharp decline in resolution at the edge of the frame.

Looking forward to more test shots!

The walls would curve way worse with my sigma 10-20.

Yes, way too early. I would suggest that "sharp decline in resolution" is indistinguishable from normal depth of field as the subject retreats from the focal plane.

Yes - agreed - the shot appears to be focused on the backpacks, and there is nothing of comparable distance from the focal plane near the edges of the frame

I have not seen anything which might support such a statement. And I highly doubt it. Vignetting at K1(!) at 18mm seems very low. The 15mm is built for compactness, even if there might be some vignetting wide open at the widest angle, at 15mm f4 I'm pretty sure it is in another league. But, let's wait for real user experience accompanied by some formal tests?

To jump the gun the best image to check is the 11mm f3.2 on ff. Yet even then there is the image circle and circle of good definition. Is the 11mm on apsc using the whole image circle or is the circle of good definition used smaller?

Now it appears the image circle isn't centered. More vignetting in the right corners.

The APS variants look very rectilinear - much better than my Sigma 10-20. Did the article say anything about 'correction'?

That's just shake reduction at work.

APS-C size (Pentax APS-C size). Your crop looks generous in height. KP sensor is 23.5 x15,6 and your crop looks more like 24 (which is fine) x 18 (which is a lot). And you get 4/3 ratio to my eye
