The gold "KP" and other lettering on right side of the body are new.
I like my silver production version better.

That degree of pentaprism over-hang will likely cause problems for fat lenses ...

It is just a piece of plastic clipped over the original camera pentaprism. Nothing here move on.....

Yeah, I'm guessing that someone used an existing prototype to see how gold lettering would look on existing models. Later this year they may sell "Special Centennial" versions with gold lettering of existing cameras with for a special centennial price. As I said earlier, I like the appearance of my silver KP better {and I like the $700 price much better}. This would be fine, but we also need new models.

Gold is fashionable: see the Leica M10-P 'ASC 100 Edition' or the Canon EOS RP 'SP Gold' limited edition.

I agree with this re-reworked KP possibly being a hint at what's expecting us for the celebration of Asahi Optical's centennial.

Weird... no flip-up flash and different shape to the prism housing with grey lettering down the side... Gold lettering on the body... Unusual glossy grip...

I wonder if this is a proposed MkII or Anniversary model??
It's written that it's just HAND MADE design of KP

With a different prism housing, no pop-up flash and gold lettering? That's pretty impressive work. How did you find out that it was a user project rather than a Ricoh-produced version?
Yes. You can read it by translator.

Yes, my comments were based on the Facebook post from a few hours ago, linked by the OP. When @Mistral75 subsequently posted the link to the original Facebook post from a year ago, I was able to run that through Google Translate.

If I remember well, you Mistral posted these pics last year on chassimages (french forum).
I am not sure I got the right understanding of it but thought it was some custom KP made by some pentax body designer?

Too late, Heie switched to Nikon already.

Ricoh could made it camouflage green and beige color for wildlife photography.
