Because I don't think Adam is a tool, only asking shallow rehashed questions. A good representative of the community will ask the uncomfortable questions.

1. Canon has announced a $1300 FF camera, will Pentax consider that priced point for their future FF cameras?
2. The release of the FA 35/f2.0 was something off the radar for every Pentaxian, what was the rationale behind it? Will other lenses follow suit? Can you give us heads-up?
3. With the release of the DA 11-18 f2.8 WR, what will Pentax do with their aps-c line up?
4. Any update from their 645Z system?
5. Pentax for the moment do not have plans to go MILC, but are they considering hybrid VF's?
6. Will Pentax improve their auto focus accuracy and speed and buffer capacity in their future cameras?
7. Will Pentax consider revamping their battery line up?
8. Will Pentax follow up their KP line?

Very important indeed.

Most important question:

1. The DA* 11-18mm is the first lens in the new-generation Star series, but was the last APS-C lens on the roadmap. What next for APS-C users? Do Pentax plan to update the old DA* lenses to this new-generation Star series? Many pentaxian would be interested in a new super-high-performance DA* 16-50mm, as the current version is outdated. Pleeeeeeeaaaaaase!

Basically, I would like to know if Pentax still believe in APS-C and still want to develop new high performance lenses soon. Or if any other lenses development is suspended.

Less important questions:

2. Any plan to develop high performance, slower and lighter FF lenses? 16-35 F4, 24-70 F4? to pair with 70-200 F4?

3. Any plan to develop professionnal lenses for wildlife photography? Is an update of the DA* 300 F4 with a new faster and more precise motor possible?

1. Will we see new DA or DFA limited lenses in the nearest future. Are there any plans?
2. When will we see new top APS-C camera as upgrade of K-3II?
3. When will we see update of 645Z?
4. Will we see FF camera from 1000 till 1300 USD this year?

1: Could you please share with us what approximately is the size of R&D departments working of cameras and lenses? It seems that during last 5+ years this department was significantly reduced.

2: After many years of SDM problems mainly with 16-50 and 50-135 lenses, there is still zero damage control visible on Ricoh side. One would expect at least statements assuring that since xxx motors were replaced in production with updated version. Or even better one would expect 16-50II and 50-135II lenses to be re-introduced with HD coating, upgraded motor and tuned optical output to remain interesting for customers. Do you plan to modernize these lenses anytime soon?

3: Could you please comment what is the idea behind releasing FF camera with limited lens support and then few years later releasing fast 50mm lens first instead of fast wide prime lenses like 20/24/35, that could make both APS-C and FF users happy?

4: Could you please share what is Ricoh's target for next 5 years?

The "accelerator unit" in the K-1 II has received mixed responses. Some welcome the reduced need for denoising in post-production, some take issue with RAW data being manipulated, preventing optimal results when using image stacking in astro-photography, for instance.

A very, very influential website took such issue with the non-optional smoothing of RAW data of the K-1 II that it denied the K-1 II a recommendation. This surely has negatively impacted on international K-1 II sales. The same website had recommended the K-1 earlier (mainly critising its lacking AF-C performance but otherwise recognising its excellence).

Is Ricoh considering to give users the option to have the "accelerator" processing be applied to JPEG only, leaving the RAW data intact?

Background: Image processing technology is continually improving (as Ricoh demonstrated with their processing themselves). Optimal results of future image processing algorithms depend on unaltered RAW data. As soon as the RAW data has been processed (e.g., smoothed by denoising), not all future algorithms will yield optimal results. Even present applications like image stacking are compromised due to the inevitable loss of information in pre-processed RAW data.

It is digital signal noise reduction co-processor added to improve poor PRIME computing power without the need of radical redesign of chip and board. Nothing else. It is hardware function, not any software glitch.

@xmeda,
This should give you an idea.

I would ask the question differently: will Ricoh consider introducing a cheap full frame camera and increase prices of the DFA lenses (like Canon does with RF mount lenses)?

Is the milbeaut processor inside Pentax camera's from Socinext still in development? Or does Ricoh-Imaging need to look around for a different processor in the future? Is switching to android an option?

My point was, if you don't expect answers - either because of contentious subject matter or the manner of phrasing - then what's to be gained by asking? It's a genuine question, not a rhetorical one. I've no issue with us posing uncomfortable questions to Ricoh - indeed, these CP+ sessions are a rare opportunity to do so - but it seems wise to use that opportunity to gain useful information and build constructive rapport, rather than put Ricoh on the defensive. But that's just my opinion

Concerning APS-C line:

1) Do they plan any (nor FF, but APS-C) WR lens like 24/1,4?
2) I think that limited lenses atracted many people to Pentax. Do they plan to prepare WR limited lenses? I do not mind having screwdrive lens, but missing WR feature is annoying.

I would use word "inexpensive" or "less expensive" instead of "cheap".
