My crystal ball isn't clear about what it is, it's very fuzzy, although if I concentrate all my energy into it, I can barely see some kind of dark device coming out of the smoke, the writing on the body similar to K-2. K-2, the son of K-1 and K-3 hybrid parents, would it be an APS-H camera?

I was going to say the same thing except not aps-h that's silly. Retro style like the original K2, more like half way between KP and K1 but FF. Hopefully in silver and black from day 1.

My guess is actually APS-C. K70 is due to be replaced, but we've heard more about the K3 II sequel so that probably is most likely at this point. If Pentax is going up scale, they could just drop the K70 and continue with the KP and K4 or whatever they call it.

It supports DC 5V power charging via USB.
At last. Hopefully a type C plug.

But this may be a pointer towards it not being a full-size, big-battery DSLR.

Right.
Technically it can be made to work - USB-C with power delivery can supply laptops - but I'm not expecting anything, I'd rather wait for more information.

The WiFi modes, hmm... hopefully it's a consumer camera.

It could be a security product based upon the optics used in the Theta - I have always thought 360 degree surveillance cameras would be a good target niche for Pentax.

Nokishita is now reporting a WG-6 and G900 will be released. It could be one of them.

Indeed, I presume it's the Ricoh G900, a rugged camera with a (1"?) 20MP BSI sensor. I have edited the thread's title accordingly.

@JPT, could you please be kind enough as to explain what 「デジタル工事写真の高度化に関する協議会」が提唱する小黒板情報連携機能・信憑性確認に準拠 means? I can understand the words but not the concept behind them. I thank you in advance.

I think this means that it is designed to comply with a certification standard for digital imaging to document building standards. For example, if you get a contractor to do 10-year maintenance on your apartment building (the normal practice in Japan), they would photograph everything as evidence that what they did was necessary. My understanding is the Gx00 series records on "Write Once, Read Many" SD cards, so that the images can't be tampered with. It may have more security functions I'm not familiar with.

It's a niche for sure, but the construction industry in Japan is colossal, so they must need to buy these constantly.

These cameras have always been 1/2.3 senosors, so I'd assume this will too.
