The "but smartphones" arguments are so tired. There is nothing magical about the tiny sensors in smart phones, surely a dedicated unit with a larger sensor and better ergonomics will be better for photography.

If i read this correctly, this has some chemical resistance? Could be great for contractors.
1. IQ of smartphones are better than WG.
2. There are action cameras which better than WG.
3. Yes, you could use G900 in hydrochloric acid.

The usual suspect bashing a soon-to-be-announced Ricoh Imaging product. Yawn.

You'd think that be a tired, old, dead topic... but as you say:

Those who believe there is no need for a WG compact are preaching to the wrong audience, here. They should be telling those who are still buying such cameras.

Definitely not recommended, though.

If I was submerged in hydrochloric acid, taking pictures would be the last thing on my mind.

They’re good enough for a daily blog post image on Wordpress, which is what most people want. iPhone5, natural light downloaded from my wife’s Blog and uploaded here from my iPhone 6s. No camera or computer intervention.

Imaging resource has got a pretty detailed article on the G900.

Ricoh G900 Review

It explains some of the industrial features.

Why these particular suspects have not been banned yet, is beyond my rational thinking.

Is pretty obvious they only come to troll and express their negativity and nothing else.
What a pity.

Dear friend, what do you see positive in WG-6? What are really new and outstanding?
The same slowest zoom and tiny sensor?

You really want to ban opinions only because you don't agree? Maybe Ogl is just disappointed, and I bet there are lot's of users here that feel the same way. For me it's not quite easy to imagine who should by that camera. And, there is a subtle difference between negativity and skepticism.

WG-6 is 399 euro
G900 is 799 euro

For that money one would expect a little bit better camera, IQ wize.

WG-50 is 189 euro and WG-60 is 249 euro overhere.

The lens looks unchanged from the WG-2 from 2012. 28-140mm / f3.5-f5.5 at least you can never make tack sharp images with that.

The firefighters will be sad. And the construction workers will weep. The police will cry. So sad.

Ricoh produces the G-series since 1999. They obviously have a market and for this target group this is the best camera since the start of this series. Either they have been totally unhappy until now and just bought it out of no proper reason or it catered their needs and now even improved.

What I really don't get is this 'I can not imagine that someone might find this useful' if just you fail to understand a product or the market group by some here.

Glad I bought the KP for the Black Friday doorbuster $696.00 special. Was thinking of waiting for the 'new' APS-c to come out, but now that CP+ is upon us, it looks like a GRiii and a couple of lenses...still no "K-3iii" announcement....In any event, I fairly stocked up with camera bodies and lenses regardless. If RICOH's bean counters think that this is a profitable road map for the brand, me and everyone else contributing to this Forum can't stop their vision. I will just keep using the products I have bought and keep taking pictures until the cameras break down.

In either case, I will not worry myself with what Pentax is/isn't offering at any given moment.
