You make 5000 books, stickers and Blue rings........and everyone is special.
I wonder how many people will ever use these blue rings. They're like an electric blue...way too attention-grabbing for your average GRist.

Did anyone else get an email telling them that “Its [sic] here” and to order now and “get your GIII and exclusive blue ring”? MY email had a link that led to the regular GIII page and no mention of an exclusive blue ring.

Nice.

I did also.
The blue ring goes only to the first orders, so maybe they didn't want anyone to think it is 'promised' at the time of ordering.

You have your existing camera. You might think it's chalk and cheese, but personally I've hardly touched my DSLR since having a GR.

Having top-notch IQ in your shirt pocket 24/7 is very liberating.
Exactly.

Double exactly.

And I'm here to report, briefly... the new one is great. Some menu and control changes I'm adjusting to (have to rework my button layouts a bit) but there've been a few times while doing so that I've said out loud "oh, nice - good idea, Ricoh".

My camera shipped a week ago, and I've had it for six days (and I really like it).
I'm guessing that the initial batch sold out, because all large online stores that I checked say it's either backordered or coming soon, and I haven't seen any show in-stock yet.

Ordered mine from B&H on 3/18. Just got notice that it shipped today, due to arrive 3/29. Just in time for a weekend photo trip! Can’t wait.

Just ordered my GR III from B&H, don't know when it will ship. Early this morning when I checked their site they showed the GR III in stock, but I guess I was too late. Anyone else got one on order from B&H? Any word on shipping date?

I have always been a fan of high quality, small cameras - I still have a Rollei 35S and a Pentax Auto 110, but I was on the fence with this one. What sold me is today while processing some KP photos I thought "if I can get this kind of quality with a shirt pocket camera I have to go for it!" Can't wait to see how it compares to the KP!

Very exciting.

You can get on the phone with B&H right, Si? That way you can get an ETA on your order instead of someone else's!

You are correct, but I just placed the order(It's 11:40 PM here) and I feel like a child on Christmas eve

Wobbly control dial/pad for some new cameras!!!
What happens to quality control? It looks like a lottery if we buy Ricoh products. I hope it will not happen to Pentax products as well. Unfortunately, Ricoh has not officially recognized the aperture control problem in some Pentax cameras.

Ricoh has already acknowledged the issue and listed which serial numbers might be affected. They're dealing with it

"Keep Calm and Carry On", as they say

A recall option on the dial.

Ricoh says it will repair GR III cameras affected by a wobbly control dial, scroll wheel: Digital Photography Review

So looking at those serial numbers, if all filled, that is close to a production run of 15.000 units.
