As for the zooms, I suspect you're right about the ultra-wides, but the DA*16-50 and DA*50-135 are no match for their bigger cousins. Certainly smaller though!
Heh, yes it does

I haven’t actually sold the big DFA zooms yet but I’ve done the product shots. I’m Just not using the 15-30 at all and the 24-70 and especially the 70-200 get left at home a lot. I can always buy them back later. I must say the DA* zooms on the KP aren’t compact . . . .

Yeah, I use the DA 18-135 DC and DA 55-300 PLM; they are plenty large for me {I don't need perfection}

I’ll probably use the money for the 11-18 and eventually the Weighty Eighty. K-1 will be a primes camera for me and the DA*’s were used. KP is for travel and snapshots.

I think your scaling is a little out, but that's still one hell of a front element. Filter size might almost equal focal length!
Most probably. For instance the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM | Art takes 82mm filters.

Well, I guess it depends on what you mean by "budget", but Fuji recently released a 155g, 16mm F/2.8 WR lens that makes the DA15 look a little old, and they're selling it for $400 (which is $50 less than the current price of the DA15)... With the fairly aggressive pricing on the X-T30, that kind of caught my eye.
Same with Fuji 23mm, 35mm, and 50mm f2's.

It has an aperture ring? Why?

Doesn't look as good as the HD DA15 version IMO plus doesn't have the fabulous in-built hood. I love built-in hoods!

Do Fuji do pixie dust? I bet I prefer the Limited

I just seen photo samples and seen bad lens flares... +1 to DA15 already

Compared to the D FA* 50 1.4
I see "AW" on the 'fat fifty', but no such designation on the 'weighty eighty'.
Is standard Pentax practice to reveal that sort of detail only later??

Thank you.
I hadn't paid much attention when the last few lenses went through the process of pre-announcement -> announcement -> actual product.

I don't have enough money set aside, or perceived need, to seriously consider a lens like this.

I think the decision to buy a professional caliber lens by enthusiasts like you and me requires some thought and choice. We can’t have them all (though it seems I am trying to ) If I buy the Weighty Eighty there is something else I won’t be able to do - and that’s fine. It is just a choice.

Wouldn't it be nice if, behind that custom KP prism/flash housing, there lurked a hybrid viewfinder and a GPS?

Not that I expect it – not right now, maybe – but maybe the next iteration will have those plus the GRIII touch screen and the on-sensor PDAF. If it does, then that's my next body.

Any and all ☆ lenses have AW level of weather resistance (higher than WR).

In the past it was implicit, now the latest ☆ lenses include AW in their denomination.

You mean Fuji? It uses aperture ring to change aperture... go figures

Same with Fuji 23mm, 35mm, and 50mm f2's.
A friend of mine moved from Canon FF to Fuji X. Recently he bought the ZEISS Touit 2.8/12. Seems to be a very nice option that weights only 260g at about ~ 900,- €. I‘m a little bit jealous about such options. It’s his second prime besides the very good Fujifilm 1.4/35. Although for me no reason to change brand.

Yep. AFAIK, true since DA lineup. Obviously not applicable to F and FA lineup.
