On my 24" monitor, it takes blowing the image to about 1 m equivalent print to get to the point where the look is clearly grainу. The detail is impressive - not sure how much is sensor and how much is lens though, the K-1 is already overkill for me with a "kit" D FA 28-105

This one is pretty grainy. Still I like the images by the chromo, just not worth the price for me.

At first I thought that photo was by you and I was going to "like" it, but then I read back through the thread and realised it wasn't. You really need to be a bit clearer when you're re-posting another photographer's work, just in case people end up thinking it's your own.

ISO 40000, compensation +1 - effectively an ISO 80000.

Summicron-R 50mm lens
It is important to know the Leica lens hierarchy

There are always oddities and exceptions but the hierarchy goes loosely like this:
  • Noctilux: f/1.0 [and faster]
  • Summilux: f/1.4
  • Summicron: f/2
  • Summaron [Also Summarit]: f/2.5[f/2.4] (Though a Summaron-M 28mm f/5.6 does exist) the summaron/summarit are considered "budget oriented" entry level Leica lenses.
  • Elmarit: f/2.8
  • Elmar: f/3.5~f/4 [ Tri-Elmar is a popular f/4 lens which is a cross between a prime and a zoom it has fixed focal lengths of 16-18-21mm the original version had focal lengths of 28-35-50mm
  • Hektor: f/4.5 [and slower]. Rumored to be so named after Oskar Barnack’s dog.

proper citation rules should be observed.

Upon turning my 28" [ 27.5" viewable area] monitor into portrait mode the resulting grain does not distract the eye from the content of the image. Considering the apparent dilation of the models eyes the environment was very dark indeed.

What’s left for cp+ 2020?
The 70-210 is out. Will we get a preview of Knew and/or a 1.4/85? Anything else?

I expect that’s where the “ten more lenses” in the other thread have come from...

By the way, and contrary to custom, there hasn't been any updated roadmap published together with the announcement of the HD Pentax-D FA 70-210mm f/4 ED SDM WR .

By the way, IIRC asahiman did not say that ten more lenses are (soon) to be presented; he just claimed, when the idea of renewed APS-C lensed (16-50 and 50-135) was brought up that there would be ten more lenses in the lineup before that (reciting from memory). This might be a slight difference, but it could (or not) change the meaning...

Rumor posting on xitec Pentax forum yesterday has D-FA 85 beginning production with “soft reviews” in a couple of months. Hopefully this means confirmation will be at cp+
