Wow, Adam. You have basically shut down the rumors threads for an entire day just by asking for help. And nobody got banned.

You should write that down

With this, we are no longer accepting additional moderator applications for the time being, but we are still open to new homepage writers.
Awesome to hear that people took up the cause! Good luck to the new mods!

. . .

Did I miss the announcement, or are you still working on it, Adam?
In years past I've appreciated seeing such announcements.
It's nice to know who's who around the forums.

I can write a story or two about using Pentax stuff in harsh out-of-spec conditions. I have for example an unpublished photo series of using KP in Finnish Lapland. It has waited processing for almost 2 years.

Teaser image!

Love that shot! Get going with the article!

I also read that as you meaning it took 2yrs for your camera to thaw out so you could process the images

There are open questions though, I encountered some issues and not all sites want to publish articles which tell the whole story. In the end, yes, I got the photos I wanted (mostly) and pushed the camera to the point where it could no longer be used.

I'd encourage you to write them, Matti. I'm sure your articles / stories would make fascinating reading.

I think the key thing is to write objectively rather than subjectively, so far as possible. When writing about subject matter we're experienced in, it can be difficult to distinguish our personal opinions, conclusions and biases from cold, hard facts, yet it's important to do so. Subjective content can be interesting and useful if presented as such in a balanced, constructive and reasonable manner appropriate to, and considerate of, the target audience - but it's mostly facts that allow the reader to draw conclusions relevant to his or her own use cases, preferences and expectations...

Ya. I agree that such public article should be carefully written. I must first process my photo series and if I am satisfied with it, I will contact you or other admin staff.

Count me in for the appreciation... that teaser image gives me the chills (pun not entirely intended. but definitely appropriate). When you said it "could no longer be used" was it temporary or, as I fear, did the camera give out completely?

I travel a lot so wouldn't be an ideal fit for a moderator. I write a lot, but as noted elsewhere, I don't really have the depth of technical knowledge. However if there is space for off-the-wall, lateral-thinking-type writing, I'd give it a go.

The KP in that photo did not broke but got frozen stuck in a way that no dials could be used anymore and buttons stayed pressed down when pushed. OVF was unusable due to hoarfrost accumulation and crystals of the LCD froze (black / partially rendered content).
