Limited Lens special site

Ricoh's Japanese site has a special site for FA and DA Limited lenses.
PENTAX Limited Lens | RICOH IMAGING
As for the other special sites, it's likely to be translated across to the English website in the near future.
Good to see that Ricoh recognizes and are promoting the things that make Pentax special.

Update: The site is now available in English.

This is a great move from Ricoh-Pentax! I love the limited lenses in every aspect. They are lenses that stand out from the pile and are clearly a Pentax trademark, so they must build on this heritage. The DA 20-40 limited is one of the most beautiful zoom lenses I've ever seen and hold. I would pre-order a similar FA limited design with a similar focal range for my K-1. Something like a FA 24-50/2.8 or 2.8-4 limited (to make it smaller and lighter) would take the place of my DFA 24-70 which is a nice lens but not anything special and also not a Pentax rendering lens, you can easily tell that.

Lets see what they have in mind!

What about a resurrection of the 24-50/4? And I've said it before, I really like the size and reach of my M 120/2.8 (on APS-C), so a Limited variant of that lens would be nice IMHO.

Surprise surprise... it's not impossible that Pentax pulls out something that's not in the roadmap.

The video was recorded at Pentax lens factory and the video quality indicated that it wasn't long ago. This indicates that what was told on the forum by some people supposed to know the brand well ("Pentax/Ricoh living off stocks of old batches of limited lenses") was completely wrong. The video shows that the manufacturing is still running and that they are able to produce new copies of the FA limited lenses.

That would be great! And with a look of a vintage limited lens like the DA 20-40...

Anything new in limited series would be a very welcomed surprise! Having and using the excellent Rokinon 135/2, I'm not interested in this focal length at the moment. I would be in a longer lens or something different/special though I would bet that a 200/2 or 300/2.8 lens would most probably be a DFA* prime...

24-50 is a very useful range on FF.
I use my old SMC A 4/24-50 quite often as my walk-around lens on the K1.
Would love to see this lens as a "limited".

I think the limited range are real gems.
A lot of reviews don't do them justice IMO. Particularly like the FA Limiteds for their image rendering and for me the small size is major plus as I'm much more likely to be carrying them.

So great to see them promoted like this.

I love my 15 and 40 limiteds. What I'd spend my money on is a WR limited prime in the 20s. But it has to stay with the limited ethos - small, light, favoring nice rendering over f/1.4 corner-to-corner sharpness to win a review contest. A gem, not a big hunk of uranium ore.

I had the the FA 43 1.9 and I currently have the 77 1.8 both are fantastic. However I have never owned any of the da limiteds and I wish I had of got a few when I had the oppertunity(money). It was imposible to find anyone who carried them locally, I think if more had been on the shelves they would of sold well. I believe they would be more broadly excepted if Pentax made the in body focus motor just a bit more quiet, then there really would be nothing to complain about (although I dont mind the noise).

The site is so well done and polished... and the video shows the craftsmanship that goes into these beauties.

I have been talking about this ever since I got my K1 when it first came out. I love the 20-40. It is a work of art but it has very limited use on my K1.

Good move. They should have done it long time ago but it makes me think that something new will come.

Only got the DA 35 macro. Love it.
I am still trying to choose between the 15 and 21.
I would also like the 70.

Ricoh may have done the site for the 100 year anniversary, and good on them.
Whilst everyone debates cameras, we can boast these lenses.
