Anything new in limited series would be a very welcomed surprise! Having and using the excellent Rokinon 135/2, I'm not interested in this focal length at the moment. I would be in a longer lens or something different/special though I would bet that a 200/2 or 300/2.8 lens would most probably be a DFA* prime...
The Limiteds are about build quality and compactness. A 200/2 or a 300/2.8 would definitely not be compact! But if you need/want a telelens, compactness is probably not your main priority anyway. Maybe a 200/4 could qualify as compact, but it'd probably be stretching the definition a bit.

I don't know for sure, but I believe it is the gears that make the noise, and not the focus motor itself.

If they were to add another FA limited than something in the 20mm range would be nice. Perhaps something like the "Voigtlander Color-Skopar 21mm f/4.0" small enough to put in your pocket like the da 15mm f4 limited but for FF.

I didn't know they were made by hand... I always imagined lines of faceless robots. Definitely have more appreciation for them now, and I had quite a bit already

I think the 24-50 range would be terrific, but it would take more than a refresh of the old one.

As much as I like my A variant, the bokeh characteristics are far from what a Limited should be...

Maybe it's me, but do they suggest that soft IQ wide open is a 'feature'?

A far better lens would be a 200/5.6. You should (if you have not already) seen how small the 200/5.6 Takumar is. Also the images it produces are outstanding.

It's a problem when customers ask for a wide angle lens design trade-off that isn't sharp at the edges. What the point of using a full frame camera is the edges are blurred because the lens is designed too small. I liked my DA15 ltd construction but I realy dislikes smeared edges, I used it a bit and sold it. Now the DFA15-30 is much much better.

Surprise surprise... it's not impossible that Pentax pulls out something that's not in the roadmap.

The video was recorded at Pentax lens factory and the video quality indicated that it wasn't long ago. This indicates that what was told on the forum by some people supposed to know the brand well ("Pentax/Ricoh living off stocks of old batches of limited lenses") was completely wrong. The video shows that the manufacturing is still running and that they are able to produce new copies of the FA limited lenses.
The translation of the site by Google Translate has inside a note about a lens facility in Hanoi...

DFA 20/4. Come on Ricoh, DOOOO IT! Designing it as a Limited would be icing on the cake.

A nice online brochure for the Limiteds. I look forward to the English translation.

(For better performance, they should also place the video on YouTube, not run it off their own server).

I love seeing factory videos. Pentax should do more of them. Sigma, Nikon, Canon and Fuji have a whole heap on YouTube. One can see a commonality in all of them with the Pentax lens factory processes. Still a lot of by-hand craftsmanship in lens production everywhere.

I've always kept an eye on the 31 ltd and 77 ltd , but the price is now > 1250 $/Euro, it is too expensive for f1.8 lenses, they should be priced between $750 and $950, they would sell better.

Love the limiteds. I've owned or used most of 'em at one point. The DA15 and DA21 were my go to's on the K3 and prior APS-C's; always regretted selling the 21 and getting the 20-40, as for me the notion of zoom and limited just didn't fit. Miss those since I went to the K1. I would love love love to see a 135 FA limited. That has always been one of my favorite full frame focal lengths.
