Pentax Year Book 2018

The Pentax Year Book 2018 has been made available.

There is an online version but one can also order a physical book.

Outstanding work by Pentaxians. I'm thoroughly impressed by the quality of the work.

The gear used isn't always the best, but it didn't seem to prevent the making and beauty of the images.

Hey, thanks for spreading the news - and I'm glad you like it! This is the second version, we did a 2017 edition as well

There is a thread about it already, you can find it here:

Note to self: the loss of detail due to the accelerator chip in the K1 Mk II is very far from having any influence on how I appreciate images in the Pentax year book 2018. Apparently I have to look for other kind of weaknesses in my photography skills.

What an outstanding set of a variety of great images! They really confirm to me that a great image is made with imagination, creativity, and artistry, yet we spend a large majority of our time pondering and discussing the gear we use. I know I'm guilty of it. This really inspires me to reverse that and spend the majority of my time on improving my imagination, creativity, and artistry, with the gear becoming secondary.

No worry, it's ever more pronounced in DPReview site. After I looked at the images of the Pentax 2018 yearbook, I took a look at the image sample gallery of the Nikon Z 24-70 2.8 make by DPR staff, and.... what a disappointment.
Yet, the Pentax yearbook 2018 did not trigger 250 visitors rate in the news/rumors section of the forum, the rumor of a new Pentax camera model would

One does not have to wander far to find copious evidence that Pentax shooters are able to excel despite the terrible deficiencies of the their often outdated, outclassed, and ridiculed gear. One might think that while excellence of gear may encourage expression of talent, the latter seems to be the more important. (sarcasm...a little)

Addendum: Lest the sarcasm have the last say, I must add that the yearbook shows the exceptional scope of talent and creative minds within the broader scope of the global Pentax-user community. Good work!

Steve

(...noticing how many were taken with the 18-55 kit lens on APS-C...)
