Since the days of the D their target group has been older men (photo hobbiest w/ dispose-able income) and young females (children ect..)...
Seems their getting serious about this again.........

I resent being called an "older man"!

Although it's becoming less and less easy to dismiss the assertion.

Maria, madre de dios.

I do NOT want to only have the same camera as a bunch of spoilt, bratty poptarts whose every second word is "like".

Marketing's obviously indulging in the same recreational pharmecuticals as those girls do during a night on the town, as Gooshin said.

Funny, the new Panasonic m43 is available in pink, and I don't hear anyone complaining about that!

Can anyone find any offical Pentax advertisement or business plan that states the standard K2000D has been developed, or is specifically aimed at the female demographic? I am inclined to think it is just the opinion of this presenter.

Cameras aren't sexually biased and this is just another case of rookie presentation. (I bet he works for CNET, or will some day)

As I pointed out in one of the other myriad threads....in Japan it is being marketed to young mothers.

Who cares who buys it and whether they bling it or not. As long as they sell it will be good for Pentax and us.

Yes, hopefully this camera meets some sort of sales expectations. Though for those of us wanting an end game in a pro level body the success of the K2000D could mean that much more attention to that arena. Either way, I love my Pentax gear and would never get rid of it. I may do some multiple systems if I get to a point I feel I really need anything more, but for now I'm set.

What's more important, though, is if it's an economic girly-cam.

It does beg the question as to who will be the first forum member to purchase one.
