At least here if you have the money or insurance you can get the care. If I am on a wait list in a socialist country and I die first what good did it do me?
I see you have no idea the way socialized healthcare works. Waiting lists (when applicable) are only for non threatening pathologies. You are not on a wait list if you have cancer.
And BTW... What happens if you don't have the money?

In most socialist countries though even if you can afford it you can't get it until it's your turn.
That's not true. You can get a private insurance if you want to.

Here, in Spain, we have a public healthcare system. I pay nothing for it (only usual taxes) and i get a healthcare coverage equal to a $700-800 a month US private medical insurance, so every year i save more than $8000-9000. And i can assure you i don't pay so many taxes. People's health can't be subjected to private economic profit.

Take a look at the WHO healthcare systems ranking ( The World Health Organization's ranking of the world's health systems ) Can you see the coincidence?

To the rest of the people, i'm sorry if all this was unnecesary and innapropiate.

Using terms like "socialized medicine" as bad words shows what a bill of goods we've been sold by our politicians and healthcare companies. Plain and simple, our system is designed for the profit of these companies, doctors and hospitals. The patient is secondary.

"If the U.S. is so bad how come people die trying to get here?"

And this is a disingenuous, canned argument used too often here in the States. Nobody is saying the U.S. is "bad," they're talking about one area: healthcare. Besides, nobody from the developed world is dying trying to get here.

Here's a link to my picture site, since this is a photography forum ; )

Ouch. All due respect to these posters, but somebody shoot this thread and put it out of its misery!

Stay on topic, folks! Political diatribes go in the general chat section, if anywhere at all in this photography forum.

But if the Republicans win, the price of the K20 will skyrocket and then Hoya will just close Pentax down.

Yeah, ok, if you say so.
But if you look at education, homelessness, healthcare and infant mortality rates, this is a third world country.

Sure look at what the current one did to avoid that

Ok, I think we do need to stop the political stuff now. My first comment was a joke, I didn't mean to start a war................. And politics (unless it's head office politics) probably has very little to do with the K20 price drop.

Yeah it doesn't have a darn thing to do with it. I had a really good post that I started to write, but I think I will refrain. Too much liberal revisionist history anyway. And the truth about the present fiasco is out there if anyone wants to find out what really brought us here. (and it wasn't this president)

So whats the best price now for the K20D?

Anybody know the latest.

I prefer buying it from Canada to save on some currency exchange.

I just ordered a K20D yesterday $648 shipped, from Canada yesterday.

EDit: I wanted to hurry up and get one before the Gov decides to tell which one I can have.

Edit: Edit: No local B & M carries it and only one will order it at list.

I'm assuming that's a Prodigital deal, right? I got mine used for a little more than that. It's currently at the PO waiting on me to come pick it up since I wasn't at home to sign for it when it came today.

Ain't that the truth! We'll keep our fingers crossed and do our part to make sure that this doesn't happen. For those of us who have more than one body, heaven forbid that the gov't should come in and seize one of our bodies in order to "spread the wealth" around to those who have no camera.

Perhaps we can propose an amendment to Amendment 2 to assure that we can keep and bear our cameras, along with our guns.

Yeah, I know I'm getting goofy , but I think a lot of people are getting that way with less than 2 weeks before the election. I just want it to be done and over with.

Heather, I did get a Prodigital on a best offer that included shipping and I had a fleabay 10% off coupon. I just couldn't pass that up.

And yeah, we can't go having all those cameras out there when that Civilian National Security Force comes around to help spread the wealth!

Good for you on the deal!

If the dreaded CNSF comes to my door asking me to give up one of my cameras, I'd like to at least pick who it would go to--someone who actually deserves it. I would reserve the right to keep my lenses, though.

Needless to say, whomever gets elected, we'll deal with it, like we always have before.
