Needs to celebrate Pentax and their 100 year anniversary. Besides major product, 100 of something small should be given a way. How about the official Pentax screw mount adapter? That has great historical significance.

Do another Pentaxium. Break entries into 3 categories - taken with: 1. Screw mount Pentax lenses. 2. K mount Pentax lenses, Pentax medium format film cameras, and Pentax Auto 110. 3. KFA and newer Pentax lenses, digital medium format, Pentax Q, and any other digital Pentax, including compacts. Award 1 DSLR body in each of the 3 categories via random drawing. This celebrates Pentax and their refusal to engage in planned obsolescence.
thanks,

You could even solicit donations of some older film gear to be prizes, maybe in a swap for membership extensions... that way some prizes would reflect some of the history...

Normally for 100 years anniversary there is a big cake and 100 candles that Mr Pentax has to blow air onto.

There is enough hot air around here even in normal times.

Prize should be based on a challenge. 100 days, 100 shots, any lens, any camera as long as it is a Pentax or officially sold as a K, 645, etc, etc. Give a bit of leeway for missed days due to life, work intruding and everyone would need to hand in a paragraph or essay as to why they are Pentaxian's.
If a photograph 'challenge' were used, all photos should be posted in some area that normally doesn't get regular usage - such as the "Pentax Forums Giveaways" section .... last summer we demonstrated how grumpy the regulars can get if the regular rhythm of a section is disturbed.

Or heck, even just the actual lens caps, since they like to go missing so often

Would be nice if Ricoh would commission something like this - "100th Pentax Anniversary".

Rather than give away cameras for a big prize, how about a Pentax Gift certificate (from B&H, SRS, CR Kennedy, etc) so a winner can choose. There are a lot of ideas here, Adam, is your head spinning yet? And not too many agree on the same paths. Whatever you come up with will be fine. Sure, some will grumble, but they don't have to participate and it doesn't cost them anything.

I agree that there should be a means to reward people for being contributing members of the Pentax Forums. In the past, people have just created accounts for the sake of a competition, and haven't made any ongoing contribution to the Pentax user community.
