Prize should be based on a challenge. 100 days, 100 shots, any lens, any camera as long as it is a Pentax or officially sold as a K, 645, etc, etc. Give a bit of leeway for missed days due to life, work intruding and everyone would need to hand in a paragraph or essay as to why they are Pentaxian's.

I didn't ask my students for 100 images for a semesters of work. Some one has to grade those images....
For class of 20 an image a week is more than enough, if you break it up with a 3 week video project.
For a class of 70,000, that's a lot of images.

He didn't say they had to be great photos. I suppose I could take 100 photos of our two cats

Mark's suggestion of a raffle based on certain criteria with a random drawing is the fairest way to do a prize giveaway. We have many photographers here with varying skill levels and varying types of lens. Not everyone is a great photographer nor does everyone have a certain type of lens. Keep it simple. Maybe as Mark posted perhaps a KP as first prize and some nice PF Tee shirts as secondary prizes.

I doubt very much that you would have 70,000. If you look at the challenges section, there are less than 100 hard core Pentaxian's uploading good quality shots on a daily basis. Don't under estimate the challenge , if after 100 days, you've taken 100 shots then I would quite happily applaud your endurance and would give you the title of Rapid Pentaxian!
Say for example there was a prize of a K-1ii, 500 would enter all gung-ho, after 3 weeks that would dissolve to less than a 100, after 2 months I would expect less than 50 still in. After 3 months? Maybe 20 but then you could go through the images. 50% will be dire, you would be able to see who is just throwing images up or those planning it through.

100 x 100 is still too much. Is this an endurance thing?
I'm more of a sprinter myself.
The long haul always bores me to death.

RE: The contest parameters and prizes: Is the object to Celebrate 100 Years Making Photographs With a Pentax Camera or to win a prize?

Participate. Submit one or more photos with a hook (e.g. ‘to do with’ 100 like the Pentax contest) = entry for a drawing.

I'd go with a random draw between contestants, instead of a vote.

Maybe ask users to provide one image for each year they've been part of Pentaxforums?

Or one picture for each month of 2019?

Or one picture from their first year with a Pentax camera, and one picture from 2019.

Or simply submit their three favourite images taken with a Pentax camera.

EDIT : I forgot to give my humble opinion about prizes. Without knowing the available budget, it's hard to venture an opinion, but products launched during the year (or close) would be relevant. The Ricoh GR III, the 11-18, maybe the DFA 50. Or give the winners their pick of an item in a list (so you don't end up offering 3 560mm lenses...). Going that way will make people happy and let Pentaxforums control the cost.

It could even be bracketed prizes: first prize between A and B $, second between B and C, and so forth.

It’s a not contest, you enter to win a random prize by submitting a photo with Pentax that has something to so with 100 (the hook) like the Pentax deal, or some other PF hook..

My average is around 500 photos a year, but I'm fairly sure I could "step up my game" to do 1 per day for 100 days; I'm guessing you do that in any case.

I say just get Rip Snorting smashed and throw Darts at a wall full of members names ! Then PM the Lucky Winner at 3AM and tell them what "Secret Prize" they just won !
Takes all the internet speed issues and Talent out of the entire equation...…. Nothing but Dumb Luck ! See how simple that is ?
Of course doing a Video is essential to the selection......Im sure we will all be watching !
