That is what happens when new information comes in, it raises new questions that no one thought of before. Until now, WG-6, WG-60 and G900 were all possibilities for a single model number, R02070. I never realized that the Ricoh lineup had so many models, we still don't know what R02030, R02040, R02060 and R02080 are and since the WG-60 was announced in October, those are just the existing products. What about R020100, R020110, ....?

Anyone else get the feeling that the product development manager at SmartVision was told to clear up all the incomplete Ricoh-branded projects before starting any Pentax ones?

I think Sherlock Holmes said something like "Once you have eliminated all the other possibilities, the one you are left with is the explanation.'' So, as all other possibilities which might apply to the K-system have been eliminated (i.e. the new technology must be Theta, GR or ham radio), any new Pentax body in the offing (K-3iii, K-1iii or K-90) must be built around NO new technology.

There have been almost as many Pentax-branded items announced in 2019 (three: HD DA★ 11-18mm f/2.8 ED DC AW, HD FA 35mm f/2 and KP J Limited) as Ricoh-branded items (four: GR III, WG-6, G900 and Theta Z1).

With the upcoming HD Pentax-DA Fish-Eye 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 ED, it will be a tie.

The good thing about no new camera is that we can't spend our money on things we don't need. We can't say the same about other brands that entice camera users to spend multiple thousands on a new system that they don't need.
