If it makes you feel any better, the K-7 platform (so a K-3 would be the same) is really not that heavy-feeling (the body is around 200 g more than the K-S1). The K-70 would already be a better form factor as well.[COLOR="Silver"]

Rockclimbing really doesnt mix well with extra weight no matter how insignifficant 200g might sound to most. It all adds up...

New SMC one on MapCamera is 36,360 On Amazon Japan is 36,370, some store on Amazon Japan put it at 74,533! I will just ignore anyone sale more than 36,500. (I ordered a PeakDesign bag including shipping from the US store and it is still a thousand yen cheaper than order it from the cheapest one on Amazon Japan. How could some store make up such weird price.)
If the new 10-17 is 67,000, it could be(I would expect it to be) a lens optimized for FF. (and wr too?)

That means an increase of 67%!

On another thought, Should I expect such minor change coming for FA limited.

Who knows. Maybe the three amigo's will also get HD coating and some cosmic things in the future.

It is low on investing in R&D, but also won't attract many buyers who already own the older version.

For the past ten years, the FA 35 has been pretty stable at 36,000 yen. The new HD version is on sale at the same store for 41,000 yen. That’s a pretty accurate apples-to-apples comparison. Nokishita reported that would be 48,600 yen.

Looking at the price of that lens has never been an useful way of estimating the price overseas, and I would advise against reading too much into the price quoted by Nokishita. It will be discounted from that in a matter of weeks, just like all photo gear.

Over here (Sweden) the HD 35mm f2 is about $528 and the smc 35mm f2 is $687 at major online retailer. Makes no sense, but it would be great to see that kind of pricing on all revamped lenses.

The retailer should drop the price of the original FA lens, at least to get rid of inventory. If not, they'll sell the HD version and not the SMC version, it's the problem of the retailer I suppose. For us customer, it's nice if the HD version is cheaper.

That would solve the problem for most but its a no go for me.
So i either suck it up for now and see if something changes in my favor or jump brands.

If you are expecting Ricoh/Pentax to get rid of their Quick-Shift focus you might want to look to another brand.

My guess it that they have tweaked the lens hood arrangement and the lens can now be used on full frame 35mm cameras. The new lens hood could then be used with APS-C cameras.

This would make it like the Tokina version of this lens where it is available in two flavours. With a built in hood for APS-C and without a hood for full frame.
