Those wrappers would sort of make sense in a non-compartmentalised messanger style bag, or as dust protectors on a shelf - worth a look, maybe

Such clothes are very common in Japan, to wrap almost anything.

Any hint of whether these will be available outside Japan, and if so, what the prices might be?

The wraps look interesting I gave up looking for a camera bag for hiking and just use a backpack with my lenses in Pentax sleeves and the camera loose. Yes I probably could find generic ones but I like that they are specific and branded.

I use a 20-year old Domke wrap like this when I use an unpadded bag. I like it.

$45 seems pretty high, though...
Or has the exchange rate moved since I looked last?

$41.5 rather than $45 but it doesn't make a big difference.

So $41.50 plus a flight to Japan

I hope they at least set up an eBay shop to sell to those of us on the coasts of different oceans...

For my smaller Limited lens I use those foam can coolers. Very cheap and give a little added protection.

So what is the status of the Z1 production wise since I can't see much stock of it here and there? Is it in full production or just limited output from a factory?

Oh I get it. Start with teasers and drip bigger and bigger stuff out until November - then - Happy Days Are Here Again!

We hope.

No you don't.
This is a selfie stick. It's a teaser - on November, they will announce giving up on cameras and entering the smartphone market. Because photography will soon be reduced to selfies and 100% smartphone snaps, or so they've been told a trillion times
The Instagram contest was part of the same.

Entering the smartphone market, yes, but with the Asahi Optical Co. brand.

Their first smartphone will include a Takumar-branded zoom lens.
