‘YouTube expert’; you know the definition of expert, right? An ‘ex’ is a has-been, and a spurt is a drip under pressure.

They could start a new KA- series for the aps-c cameras where the first would be KA-1. Then the next FF would be the KF-1. Of course this does not allow for any indication of where in the hierarchy a specific model would fit (flagship vs. enthusiast vs. entry level). This could get complicated really quickly while I (we???) await the upcoming KAf-1.
The new naming structure should use the following scheme:

Crop = KDA
FF = KFA

There are rumours about Canon revisiting that, but the fact that they haven't yet might be siggnifcant in terms of user uptake or real world usefulness - or it might not be

I like that, both of it. Anyhow, this reminds me of old PDML mailing list days, where the flagship of the analogue days played an important role. Being above Mz-5 and Mz-3 everyone was expecting the Mz-1. Pentax came with the Mz-s

(Yes, I know the prototype of a so called Mz-1. I would have liked it in those days).

It was cool on that camera with only 5 points.
How cool would it be for dozens of points!
I actual have and use the Elan 7ne It’s a fun thing to try but it doesn't work that well as a photography tool. Even with the limited number of points it requires you to look directly at what you want to focus on in an unnatural way. It’s much better to take everything in a scene in rather than looking specifically at one single point. Canon Elan 7ne (The one that knows where your looking) | Wallace Koopmans Artlog

As cool as eye-controlled focus sounds, it's not very compatible with how human vision works.

People's eyes are constantly in motion, twitching over different parts of the scene about 3 times per second. It's kind of like panoramic tiling with a telephoto lens and it's how human vision builds up a detailed view of the world. That's especially true of photographers who might be (should be!) checking all the other non-subject elements in the foreground, background, and borders of the photo.

Although the camera can follow the photographer's eye, it can't read the photographer's mind to know when the eye is looking at the subject or is looking elsewhere in the scene. Thus, a eye-controlled AF system would tend to jump all over the scene as the photographer makes these unconscious eye movements.

That's true - and photographers are even worse as we train ourselves to look at the edges of the frame

And what do you do about Heisensubjects, the subjects you cannot observe and photograph at the same time?

If its commercialization is planned for 2020, it will be possible to handle (literally: take in hand) the camera on this occasion.'

If it's really possible to put one's hands on the camera, French people on this forum will report on the mysterious label on the bottom and, of course, the unlabelled button and its use.

Ejector rear LCD, beware, here we come!

The interval composite setting with 2 shots can capture the ghostly image of Schrödinger's half-there/half-gone cat.

Maybe we can convince them to put it mount-down in the case so we can see the bottom

Or at least have them put a mirror under a translucent stand...

There is nothing particularly interesting on/about the bottom, save for a white label with WS (working sample) on it. The blurred picture was a tease, a marketing trick.

We shall see when the actual product is released and can get a view of the actual bottom.

I think Ricoh should take a tip from Adam and drop a new bit of information for every 1,000, posts in threads like this

Eye AF could potentially be useful if implemented correctly. It would need to be 'Off/Inactive' by default so the lens doesn't hunt
as the eye scans the scene, then 'Activated' with a Focus lock button.
