If these are actually photos and not photorealistic renders (and I tend to think they are photos, mostly because of the awkward masking around the bottom) then this model honestly looks pretty production-ready. Maybe there's firmware yet to work out, but it sure looks complete otherwise.

Is this the same camera in both photos? It seems to me that the design near the hot shoe at the very top of the pentaprism is different. Maybe just an optical illusion or my tired eyes?

Hrmm. Interesting button layout as well as the position of the Stills/Video/LV mode select dial. Would like to have the AF/EF lock mappable to the left side under dial two buttons. Green button placement is what is is.That S.fnc (assuming: second function) button is curious. At least it has a top lcd. No flash but you can't have everything. I hope they don't include a gps or at least have the full shut off for it.

However the rear of the camera looks unfinished particularly the joystick, the lcd and the framework around the lcd looks cut and paste.

This looks like a really solid product. I have used a lot of cameras and I've always felt like the K3 II had the best balance overall when it came to size/ergonomics. I love my D500, but I liked the slightly smaller size of the Pentax. The only thing I disliked about it was the lack of joystick and it looks like they fixed that too.

If they somehow can update their AF game in a significant way that would be a great plus, but I think this will make a lot of Pentaxians happy regardless of that.

Lol! I was going over the general camera rumors sites and whom ever on PF bet on how long it would take for people to start bashing Pentax better have wagered under a minute.
No youtube critical critiques as yet but that is only a matter of time.
