There is something going on inside that Pentaprism cover?

Interesting comparison - although the K-3 is shown completely level, whereas the shot of "new camera" was taken at a slight angle, pointing down. As such, I don't believe the difference in height is quite as pronounced as it seems here...

I agree, I've been trying to overlay a K5 cutaway but different angles make it confusing.

However the viewfinder does seem higher.

I am really happy about that teaser for the new camera. I don't think anyone at Ricoh/Pentax foresaw that they created an optical illusion capable of splitting the masses like that ballet dancer that turns clockwise or counter-clockwise (you can even change the direction with some luck) or, perhaps more fitting for a community of still photo shooters, the famous black-and-blue or white-and-gold dress.

I for one am in the camp of fixed screeners. Look at the outer boundaries of the screen. The clearances are like with other fixed screen cameras like the K-3, but most importantly there is no plastic (or protective in general) frame around the screen like with all previous Pentax cameras that don't have a fixed screen. For the K-1 this frame is rather thin, but still very much visible with its own lines and shapes. For the K-S2, K-70 and KP it's rather wide. There's no sign of similarity to any of those, and no means of protection for the screen (should it flip or tilt out in any way) at all, so you'd run the risk of shattering the whole screen into its bits and pieces when you knock its edge against something.

I'm all for a higher positioned eye cup, since I am over 6ft tall.

All these comparisons don't tell us anything about what is inside. They could have put a slightly modified KP; they could have put a slightly modified Samsung NX1. The only things we have learned in the past 48 hours are
(1) not MILC
(2) rough timing

Just press the plain black unmarked button on the upper left of the housing and out she pops. Or else put your fingernail under the cutout corner on the right bottom corner of the screen and pull. And then take a nail file to repair your fingernail.
Maybe it’s a push to open design

... question is: what‘s under the hood?
Top wheel is for viewing options, big wheel for three option... LV button is not labeled.... something is going with the finder. Cool.

AF joystick looks obvious and was about time.

No flippy screen that I can see. If you look at the top right corner you see that the camera back curves out at that point. All you are seeing is the screen area cutting into the curved area of the body. Since this is a demo model we will have to wait. A flip out screen is a great aid to video recording. Can't get real excited about it without seeing the specifications. The fact that Pentax continues it's course is great news in itself. Money is set aside for a new camera so hopefully this will be it. So many other temptations out there.

I'm with Schraubstock - press the unmarked button on the back and the LCD screen pops out. This simultaneously turns the eye sensor off and directs overlays to the now movable screen.

the pentaprism pointing down looks a bit too odd to me.
