Hm, maybe the screen is not tilt but detachable? Small battery to keep it running like a tablet and WiFi or something connected to the body?

Yes, in the photos posted here New K-series DSLR under development to be exhibited - Page 30 - PentaxForums.com
the K-3 is straight, something odd about the other one, doesn't look right.

looks like they needed more room to the right of the screen and the screen runs into it, thus the different styling at bottom right of the screen, maybe a larger screen.

Different focal length lens or significant crop for the prototype. The prototype is further away from the camera than the K-3.

Waited and waited and waited......and now just another fixed screen ? Really ?

Don’t despair. It’s early yet.

The model is a prototype.
Please don't reach serious conclusions based on it.
Their people appear to be excited by its innards.

Looks like it has most of what I was hoping for. I hope there is enough space around the thumb grip so as I won't constantly be accidentally pressing buttons like on the KP and I hope they will bring out a version with a flash incorporated. I know I may be in the minority on this but I actually use the flash on my K5 and even sometimes on the KP. The more powerful the better!

I surely HOPE there is some kind of articulating screen here somewhere.

This is a pre-release camera. We have no official details. I would actually be surprised if they didn't have some type of movable screen considering that they now have it on every ILC from the K70 to the 645z.

As of yet, we have no details on specifications, the body itself is likely not finalized, the only thing is that we have definite confirmation that Pentax is continuing to work on the k mount and that this will be an SLR. (both things that I was certain of, but many on the Forum had seemingly lost faith in).

Well I’m keeping an open mind. If this camera does some things none of my other cameras does - and I need or want those things - then I might change things around.

This is a surprise, thought DSLRs were on the way out.
100% of Pentax camera product is DSLR. What do you expect them to announce... the launch of a new washing machine?

My thoughts too. Perhaps the blank button on the back is part of the release mechanism.

I've looked at my K-3 and K-5 and they are a different shape, streamlined as such, straighter, this is a different design, looks bent down, or some such thing. would this have something to do with a larger view in the view finder?
