Could be but there is almost certainly a model number in the usual place, under the black tape.

It could be an identifier as to which prototype and what version.

One thing is that it is very bright! Perhaps they put a white square over something before mosaic-ing.

The sticker with the model number is normally on the corner, not between the tripod screw and lens mount. It's also a black sticker with white letters IIRC (the one on my K-7 sure is), not the big bright white patch shown... The plot thickens!

I have one of these!
And it's going away in early October.
That said, I have no idea what you're talking about.
In reference to the build quality of Ford cars. I have a 2013 Ford Focus with 80k miles and I've already have the transmission replaced 3 times. Some interior panels are loose, the top light control panels had been pushed up and I can't pull it back down. Needless to say, I'm no longer a fan of the Ford Focus.

Yes. I had compared the baseplate with my K-3 and the tripod mount and grip connector match. The battery compartment is also easily recognisable. So "3" is probably the label. There are a couple of points which (for me, anyway) standout. My label has K-3 on it so it is likely that the label on this one has the model number as well. That is a good enough reason to pixelate it. Why pixelate all of it? I would say that it was just an instruction to pixelate the base plate not a "Let's get 'em going" bit of fun.

But the image does show something else. The model number label on the K-3 is to the right of the tripod mount when you look at the base. It could not go above the tripod mount because there is not enough flat area for it. This shows quite clearly that this body has a bigger flat area of base plate in the area where the label has been placed (something that the other images suggest anyway). Since that won't be a space in which to carry your lunch, I can only assume that they needed more space for electronics - right under the lens mount. Could that be something to do with auto-focus improvements? Don't flame me - I am only speculating.

Occam's Razor - the simplest explanation - @alpha75ts is right. It is a pop-down flash which would explain the electronics above it. A design by the Monty Python team!

The main point that this base plate tells us - if it is indeed the model number label - is that this thing is ready to "rock'n'roll". What you see is what you get, without the pixilation and the black tape. Release cannot be too far away.

I think its a white sticky that says: "#1 of 3"; #2 being on its way to the Netherlands, of course.

I think you may just given clues that getting a workable Arca-Swiss plate or L-bracket is going to be a major pain.

The one in Japan is on display through 29 Sept according to the Twitter post from the place where it is displayed.

Twitter

I take this to mean we know the location of two out of three copies.

Steve
It was also shown in the Netherlands

I have a 2011 Ford Fiesta with just over 100k miles on it. I haven’t paid for any major work on it; it isn’t quite ‘tight’ because it has been smacked in the back several times, but it ‘keeps on ticking’.

If we get another car, I would definitely consider a Ford.

Both my K-30 and my KP have a hatch on the bottom for the battery. Based on the K-1/3/5/7 bodies, should we expect that kind of arrangement for this new camera also?

Under the pixelation it appears to be the same battery hatch.

They lifted the hood for a short while and we could have an unobstructed peek at the body itself.
