No sure, it's all in good fun. It's just that I really, really don't get why people get so defensive and mad about a tool. Cameras are nothing else. My Pentax does what I want it to do, my girlfriend's Canon does what she wants to do. Would we be happy with each other's cameras? Not necessarily. Do we wish for the cameras to be better? You bet, but money is money and we're not rich. She is with Canon because she had the opportunity to get very decent gear for very little money, I am with Pentax because I have always liked fiddling and tough builds so Pentax allowed me to try a dozen vintage lenses mounted on a tank of a camera like the K-7 while spending very little money at a time where I didn't know whether I would even like photography. And now we are mostly satisfied with what we have. Let's be honest, it's very difficult for most of us to be objectively let down by any given camera brand these days.

Not in my wildest dreams would I ever mock anyone for their brand choices... our photography Whatsapp group has 4 friends who shoot 4 different brands. One even has actual reasons to shoot Sony crop cameras! (He hikes a lot, like seriously a lot, and I can understand that having a NEX-6 plus 16-50 and 55-210 lenses for less than what my K-1 without battery weighs is a blessing there).
The important thing is you like what you have and you're happy with it.

Exactly! I'm definitely happy. Any failings of the camera are, under scrutiny, actually "ooops" moments due to misfire of the operator's brain

This was the MZ-D:

I don't see too many resemblances with the K-New.

The K-new looks good. I'm just wondering why a curved left side.

All in good fun ... What they decide to name it will not inform my opinion of it (though k3 III would be a bit off).

The New Pentax

As I said in my prior post, when the news first came out, I am a little leary of spending more on a line which may disappear. Yet, I own the K-7,K-3,K-3ii,K-1and have had the KD,K-5and K-5iis. Now I can't wait to see what the new Pentax is. Guess it is a little like lens envy and yes, I have plenty of those too.

Relax, It will not disappear. Doomsday is not here even though some have proclaimed it for a long time.

Being an international community, we cover a lot of time zones and therefore sleepy times - but to refer back a little while to discussions of the centenary events as evidence of continuing commitment to the Pentax brand by Ricoh - does anyone know if Hoya is doing anything?

They have a raffle. After 100 colonoscopies you get a free ticket to a mediterranian cruise.

If only for the fun of 1st April joke I would do it if I was in charge of Hoya's marketing

I think what enters is the colonoscope, not the user.
