Be conspicuous and people won't see you.

I hope that I didn't give the impression that he had, er moved on in a permanent way; just that he doesn't seem to post here any more.

I liked silver bodies when it was the colour of metal. I don't like bodies painted in silver, be they plastic, polycarbonate or metal.
The older film bodies were chrome-plated pressed sheet metal. Although the silver paint can look pleasing to some (me included) it isn't as robust as metal plating. Neither is black paint, of course, but it doesn't tend to show scuff-marks as prominently, and touching up scratches is easier than with silver.

The metal on my ME Super and Super Program bodies still looks good after over 30 years. I agree that a silver paint job would not hold up as well.

That's interesting. They really look nothing alike except for color and the 3 top dials. The shapes are completely different.

I have a Spotmatic F that still looks like new, pretty much. At least, as far as I can recall, having bought it new.

Has anything new about the camera been leaked or announced? I don't want to read every post, but I keep coming back hoping something else came out. Can we have two threads, one for actual information and one for everyone's debates and discussion around it? That would make things a lot easier for people like me who just want the facts.

Anything of any substance will most likely be on the Home Page first, or close to it, so I wouldn't fret about news getting buried here.

To me there is.

I find the look of painted silver very off-putting.

It is not necessarily the fact that it is a fake, some fakes can work quite well, it just doesn't look good at all.

All good for those who don't take offence, I'm just voicing my opinion and am very glad that Pentax keeps releasing all-black bodies, as this the optimal styling for me personally.
