I'm a Filipino. I would like the camera to have a rice cooker power adapter along with a can opener for sardines, bottle opener for my San Miguel beer and cork screw for my wine.

I'm interested now. This marks the first time in years that I've pulled out the old K3II and visited the Ricoh website. With all the lenses that I've got this could be a no brainer.

The K-3ii was introduced fewer than five years ago --- but I'm glad that this has reawakened your interest in photography.

I have nearly $2K CAD in my squirrel fund.
I most definitely intend to pre-order this new APS-C once available.
The remaining cash (if any) will be put towards battery grip.
Next items after that will be the 11-18, 70-200 (or 200 prime), and the 77.
I imagine this will take me years upon years to save for! haha

Wow, I've got a K-3 and I really don't consider it a very old camera. Yep definitely a no brainer! Just curious what made you stop using the K-3II, the Siren Song of "newer better" cameras?

So, the "squirrel fund" is money put aside, not money used to photograph squirrels, since you would purchase a long lens if it were the latter??

I'm still pretty happy with my 55-300 PLM for my squirrel-picture-taking-lens I don't think I could justify the 560mm for squirrel pictures :P

How well I know, My friend. That was my point that the K-3II isn't that old.

The squirrel fund is for buying nuts, to use as bait.

Despite the very small difference between my K-3 II and my K-5 I still prefer the K-5 size in hand. Strangely makes a difference. Will be interesting to see the precize size of this new camera.

For me, the placement of the back-button AF on the K-5 is less preferable than the placement on the K-3.
My thumb wants to use the bracer on the edge of the camera and having the button more in the middle (as is on the K-5) removes my thumb from the edge bracer.
I prefer having the AF back-button more near the top, near the edge bracer. Makes it easier to use.
I'm glad to see the new APS-C has the AF button near the top (like the K-3), and not in the middle (like the K-5)..

Curious, in my case is at the contrary, I prefer the K3-II handling .

Absolutely! I agree on that one and it's enough to make the K-3 the better body. However the size and fit of the overall body is nicer on the K-5
