Not exactly. It was a development announcement with no specification disclosed apart from the camera being the top-of-the-line APS-C model.

The camera has been shown under the glass. Just me thinking out loud. I would assume that that was an announcement. I think they announced it early to appease us as most of us are complaining about the need for a top tier APSC. Ricoh might have thought that all this doom and gloom has to be pacified.

At the time of announcement detailed specs will be available -- number of focus points, frame rate, video specs, etc. Right now, we just know that they are working on the camera to get it ready. Typically time from the official announcement to release is only a few months at most.
