Don't most cameras have that functionality? Why would you need such a blow-function then?
Most cameras don't have in-body shake reduction.

I.e. that ability is coupled to having IBIS? How do other cameras clean the sensor then (or do they rely on the user for that)?

Yes, the same servos or solenoids or whatever that IBIS uses can rapidly vibrate the sensor to shake the dust off. I assume that cameras without IBIS don't automatically clean the sensor. You'd have to use a rocket blower or swabs.

What you're describing is the first version of Pentax' Dust Reduction system - which indeed is using the SR system to drive the sensor into a hard stop, to dislodge dust.
It isn't the most efficient, and it isn't the only option; the usual system has piezo elements shaking at a very high speed a protective glass (available before Pentax' SR-based system). This is why you don't feel the DR system working on your K-3 II; yes, Pentax is also using the piezo elements system for their upper level cameras.

Currently only the K-70 is using the SR-based system.

Huh. I didn't know that. And come to think of it, my K-30 has a perceptible vibration at shut-down, while the K-3ii doesn't.

Funny thing is that my niece's Nikon D5200 has a sensor cleaning mode. I don't even know how that works. Some kind of electrical charge? Who knows, but it definitely doesn't have IBIS. Same with the D7200.

Both my K-30 and my KP have "on" and "off" cleaning available, but they are menu-selectable, so you would have to be sure that the K-3ii has "off" selected before you make the comparison. The K-30 cleaning does feel different from the cleaning available on the KP, though.

From what I can gather, cameras that don't have IBIS can still use a piezo crystal ultrasonic vibration system to shake dust particles off the sensor. The frequency is higher and the amount of motion involved is considerably less, but the goal is the same: keep pixels from being blocked by dust particles.

The tiny trained monkeys with squeegees approach must be proprietary to Nikon.

So it's DPR reviewers, eh? No, wait, you said "trained" so it's not them.

As opposed to the other system that trains their tiny monkeys to just blow hard on the sensor, soon to be outsourced to one trapped in a lens

For some cameras, sensor cleaning mode flips up the mirror and opens the shutter so you can clean the sensor yourself.

Pentax cameras also do this, but in addition to the self-cleaning.

Now we know what the unlabeled button does - it releases the nano-monkeys from their cage to clean the sensor (and sweep up any errant pixie dust).
