I know more AF points is one of the big requests from Pentax users over the years......but......

am I the only one whose first action on getting a new camera is to change the focus points from "whatever they are" to central 9 ?

Why did you open a new thread to repost the same message as three days ago?

By the way, the source thread on Weibo has been deleted.
I just saw a reply after the deletion of this Weibo, from a photographer related to Ricoh China.
So I confirm the reliability of this message.
The photographer has already published pictures of this lens on the Chinese network at least three months before the DFA50 announcement. He is a tester

No traction the first time?

Central 9? Heck I set it to one and recompose.

Indeed: Pentax Rumors didn't pick it up, RiceLow didn't either and the Weibo thread is now down.

May be this time?

Wouldn't this be what most people wanted? Greatly improved AF and good 26 megapixel sensor. Sounds very promising to me.

I like everything I see so far. I'm just waiting on official specs & user reviews. I know that a good chunk of users here hate DPReview, but if they actually say that the AF is finally on par with the rest of the field, I imagine that this camera is going to sell quite well.

I'm hoping that this camera has something similar to Nikon's 3D AF where you place your focus point on something & it follows it, whether it moves or you move your camera. I could imagine the 55-300mm PLM on it......

Not going to happen. Not because of Ricoh but because of DPReview.

I'm happy to send you a PM predicting what they'll say.

Threads referencing a Chinese or Siberian blogger are as eventual as RF device registration in Korea. The presence of such is as predictable as a pronouncement from Asahi Man. It is all part of the fun, sort of like the side-show at a fair or circus.

That said, the observation made is based on fact and the possible significance is a reasonable conclusion. Inclusion of snips from Nikon promos is a bit tangential, but they lend color, I suppose.

I heard you already at the other thread. Interesting rumour, perhaps even more than that.
