How, may I ask, does one "sneak" any camera with a 70-200 f/2.8 into an event?

I suspect it will be a K-3 something. In one of these pics there is what appears to be a Blackjack hand - and the card turned over is a 3. If someone is having a bit of fun with the speculation, the other two cards might add up to 18. But I think you would have to know a bit of Japanese to work out the possibilities. I can think of a few, but none appear really likely (including the K and then 8 being 1000 in binary). Or it may be a 'sounds like' thing which I wouldn't have a clue about.I like puzzles and I like to think that someone may have set some puzzles in this.

Peter, I think you should switch off the PC, go for a nice long walk in the fresh air and think about something else for a while...
I liked the old days when Ned Bunnell would post photos of his koi pond with a new camera model discretely positioned under the shadow of some big-leafed plant.

K-1000.
This does not bode well. Would you care to repeat your calculations just to make sure?

Since it's so kindly requested.

Blackjack = 21. 3 is face up, that leaves 18 for the two other cards. One of them is a King (K for King). Value = 10. 18 - 10 = 8. A three plus a King plus an eight = 21 points.

A K and an eight. K 8. K 1000 (8 = 1000 in binary). K-1000.

Got it...except what is shown is not a Blackjack hand. Two cards should be face up, at minimum, except for the dealer, where one card should always be face down.

It's Japanese Blackjack, a variant.

Those are J Limited's "calling"/business cards. As far as I can determine the face is the same on all the cards.

If you look at photos of their display at CP+ 2019 you'll see (at various times and locations): single cards face up. Two cards one face up one down, single card face down, a stack of cards. The cards at CP+ have a B&W back.

Japanese Baccarat (Oicho-Kabu) would be more likely. There are no face cards in the kabufuda deck - only numbered from 1 to 10.

Oicho-Kabu - Wikipedia

"The nickname for the worst hand in oicho-kabu—an eight, a nine and a three—is phonetically expressed as "ya-ku-za" and is the origin of the Japanese word for "gangster," yakuza."

If anything the cards say 1/3 of what's coming is revealed so far. If next time there is one card down and a 2,3 showing what numerology will come up?
Actually one card is a Magic the Gathering card, Force of Nature. The other is a Pokemon card, Magicarp. These signal the k3iii will be a fully waterproof landscape camera.

A very enjoyable report to watch and read. Pentax cakes ... mmmm. Thanks for sharing. However, I do not understand why the king of ISO, Pentax KP was not suitable and that Nikon was better.

I'm glad this lens came out. I hope I'll win it. There will be lots of times when you'll need one particularly in travel. I've used my Sigma 10-20 a lot when I travel. Shooting in doors and of buildings when you can't move back to take a picture. As a Pentax user, my requirement is my lens should be WR rated at the very least. This answers my requirement. If I don't win it, it's in my purchase list. This is one great lens.

I basically agree with you, but I cannot imagine spending so much on a lens - so for me it is "win it or watch someone make good use of it".
