ISO1600 is good. ISO3200 are useless.
But the samples are very mediocre.

Note that they turned noise reduction *off* for the high-iso shots. Looks good to me, considering it uses basically the same sensor as the K10D.

Yeah, iso 3200 is raggedy. But it won't stop me from purchasing.

Who's looking to buy this thing for high iso anyway? Not I.

I think that they should have used a better lens and easier subject to see the real 3200Iso capabilities. They all look soft. Although this is quite representing of the type of lens that will probably be used on this camera. the new Lens might contain older formula glass from the first generation 18-55.
Maybee they should try RAW. But again its not going to be representing the vast majority of the comunity.

man, that creme brulee looks good!!

I have had my K10D for over a year, still just as fantastic as it ever was and no reason in "down-grading" just because the K2000D is a new model., I am holding out for the K20D replacement...probably summer of '09.

Im with jason, i've used a k10d since nov 2007 and actually had an itch to upgrade to k20d, but glad i didnt. im thinking about getting the k2000 for my younger sister since shes a beginner (which is the main purpose for the cam) but considering that it only comes in a kit that includes the body+lens+flash for $699, the k200d is looking mighty good.

Web samples = no real information. I'm sure the 10mp sensor will perform as we've come to know and love ;P

Oooh, I thought the 40mm Ltd. pancake would be THE representative lens for the K-m

As long as it is going to be released soon, I cannot wait for such a small compact camera to be released. I doubt image quality will be a concern given the record of k10d image performance.

Amongst people who roam forums looking for samples.... probably.
Amongst amature newbies looking for a simple SLR. Kit lens.

What lens did they use? The samples are simply dreadful, worse than a compact in terms of sharpness. The wide angle shot of the grassy landscape in particular, almost nothing in the image is sharp.

Not impressed at all so far.

Good punchy colours and contrast. They've nailed the "consumer" look. And I'm sure a better lens would get even more out of this camera.
