Both rumours emanate from Kimio Tanaka.

In November he thought and wrote in his blog that the camera should be available at the beginning of summer. On the 31st of December he twitted that the camera could be released later than that, after summer.

So, any "delay" could be in his head??

As far as I know, Ricoh has never made any promises.

The Sony 26.3 mp sensor is used by Fujifilm in their X-T3, X-T30 and X-Pro3 cameras.

This is all speculation that:

1. there will be a delay (the source is Kimio Tanaka first thinking that the camera would be available by next summer, then thinking that it wouldn't) and
2. if there is indeed any delay (in comparison to internal programming, because no launch date has been announce yet), that it could be due to partly redesigning the camera to include a flip screen.

And we really needed more baseless, senseless speculation

Missing estimates usually don't mean anything but that more hard work is needed to finish than the estimate.
But we don't know if the camera missed an internal estimate, or some kind of deadline at all.

A hope which is the way he first described it and a company-announced schedule are not at all the same thing. If anything a hope and wish are more alike. Just sayin'. You can't say the camera is behind schedule unless you know what Ricoh's schedule is.

We saw the last new Pentax APS-C three years ago. An extra month or two now doesn't much matter. I can be patient and I hope you can too. Now if it looks like it's slipping into 2021 I'd be a bit concerned.

I appreciate that you provide your sources, but has anyone knowledgeable translated the Japanese?

As far as I understand he says he does not have any reassurance/hints/idea that it would be summer. He seems to express his discomfort with a lack of information for any date. Since "in 2020" is the last official statement, it's just no new information coming from Ricoh directly. Whoever wants to read a delay from these statements might do it, but I would have expected a confirmed date first, and a deviation of that would be a delay.
