It isn't the qualities that can not get along - it is the people who value one over the other.

All software is ‘beta’ until end of life. One can try, but you can never take into account every conceivable way it will be used (or abused) by the end user.

I had a friend whose favorite saying was "It's impossible to make things foolproof because fools are so ingenious!" Seems to fit here.

"There are two ways of constructing a software design. One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies. And the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies."

It's time to close that thread, already few pages with nothing pertinent regarding the OP subject.

I believe your source is classified. You can tell me but then you'll have to kill me!

I don't think anyone here has any info. The only person that I could think of would be asahiman on the other forum, but he hasn't really said much about this camera. He has said more stuff about 2 different classes of FF coming up & even then he hasn't given much info about that either.

I doubt insider information would really help. Although Ricoh's managers (and engineers) certainly have a plan for the likely release date, the actual date is not totally under their control. Issues with the firmware, last-minute feedback from beta testers, updated decisions by marketing/management, delays from parts suppliers, or problems during the initial manufacturing and quality testing could easily delay the launch for weeks or months.

Unless the K-new is just a simple copy of the K-3 hardware and firmware with nothing new inside (unlikely!), the only answer is:

"The K-new will be ready when it is ready."
