Maybe fixed screens are more common than you think on higher-end cameras.
The tilt screen feature is related to design intent of camera. Sport/wildlife shooting doesn't require movable screen, landscape and macro does. Design intent is rarely communicated my camera manufacturers, they assume that customers select the right type of camera based on shooting needs. Anyone could buy a 1dx for landscape photography and complain about the size, lack of resolution and look lack of tilt screen. Anyone could buy a K1 for sports and complain about lack of speed, buffer and size of files.
