That's an odd camera choice to promote the Clifton event, but otherwise awesome. Hope to see some USA events announced.

So maybe Pentax mobilizing things in this 100th year anniversary. They're just doing it their own way.

Well, it is an all-black member of the M-series, which were lighter than the short-lived K-series {except for the K1000!!} which preceded them.
The series began approximately 40 years ago - perhaps the organizer is competing in the "what will be new camera" name game by suggesting they'll go back to M-names.

That would be an interesting naming convention to return to.

As good a guess as any, I suppose. I would have chosen something modern above anything else, (Ricoh isn't in business
today making 40 yrs old cameras), perhaps counterbalanced with something from the past to honor the history of the brand.

Plot twist: The rear screen of the new prototype is a fake screen where you can hide your film rolls

If so, the choice of an MV1 is quite odd, this being an entry-level camera. An MX would've been more appropriate.

I love the mv1, so tiny and cute. They probably used because it looks pristine

Aye, doubt there was much thought in it, just a nice pic of a nice body, and probably Clifton Camera’s choice not something from Pentax PR.

The MX had almost the same dimensions as the MV1: 135.8 x 82.5 x 49.3mm (MX) vs. 132 x 84 x 49.5mm (MV1). Its appearance was also similar.

I agree with you two: they probably took a picture of the best looking body available to them, irrespective of its 'positioning'.

I never suspected that ad came from Ricoh. If it had, it would certainly have included something current as well in addition to the product
of the past.
