2019 marks the year we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Asahi Optical Joint Stock Co., the original manufacturer of PENTAX-brand products.

To celebrate, we’re inviting all Pentax users to a special event in Sydney on December 9th.

There is no entry fee for this event, simply bring along your favourite Pentax or Ricoh camera from any era and join us for a great evening.

We’ll not only have presentations on the history and future of the Pentax brand from both local and Japanese representatives but also some fantastic historical items on display.

This will also be your exclusive chance to see the newest Pentax camera revealed earlier this year!

Food and Drink will be provided as well as a chance to capture images of the spectacular views and the festivities as they occur. We’ll also be having a lucky door prize for one lucky attendee featuring some wonderful 100th anniversary themed merchandise.

So come on down and commemorate the amazing history of Pentax with us, but reserve your place quickly – spots are strictly limited.

So...any Antipodean Pentaxians going to make it along to this?

I would be sorely tempted, but it would mean a bit of travel and probably an overnighter, as I'm in Canberra. I look forward to hearing any news gleaned from this though.

Normally in Ipswich QLD, but will be in Melbourne at this time. But might seriously think of driving, or a quick return flight. Should certainly be a one-in-a-lifetime event, and a chance to meet some of the folks who post in these illustrious forums.

Hmmmm, return flight from Perth to Sydney plus accomodation etc...........I've got more chance of getting another KP body at 20% off from DC Xpert past the finance committee (and the chances of that are about zero)

But I'm looking forward to a report from any forum members who can make it.

It's a great venue. Other CRK Pentax events have been successfully held there - eg the K-1 launch event in May 2016 and a K-3 launch party in Nov 2013.

Maybe this time I will go. We'll see.
