Originally posted by walgarch Some images from the event last night. I'm expecting more to be posted to the Pentax AU facebook page at some point. Kazunobu Saiki - General Manager of the Marketing Communication Department, in the Global Marketing Division of Ricoh Imaging made an appearance at the event. Also got a personalised message for us Aussies from a bigwig in Japan
A working copy of the new APS-C was there, but was safely secured behind glass.
Crowd photos are from when people were still showing up. The Kennedy clan also made it out, so big thanks to CR Kennedy for arranging the event! And the free commemorative camera body cap we received for the Pentax 100th anniversary event
Thanks for posting photos! I only just got home, so I haven't had the chance to look at mine yet. The bigwig in Japan I believe was the head of Ricoh Imaging Japan.
That's Clem Kennedy in the sixth photo and the person in the following photo is Saiki-san. He gave an excellent speech, and was very excited to see all the classic Pentax cameras that people brought along.

I wasn't given any specs for the new camera. It looks like it has at least on feature inherited from the K1. I was told that specs may be available in February 2020.
There were special prices for some gear on the night, but I'm sorry - if you weren't there, you missed out! Everyone got a camera cap, and I was given a free camera strap for posting a photo on Facebook. I also bought a T-shirt and a camera pin.
