I have no idea what this means. Why would we avoid Pentax due to a lack of awards?

There are a lot of legitimate complaints about DPR’s bias against Pentax but they have given a very justified award to the GR III and I think posters here should go over and give a thanks for that.

I did.

DA* 11-18/2.8 right? Then again, that is a "high-end APS-C" lens, and to DPR that statement is contradictory, because apart from Fuji, if you want high-end you need full frame.
I don't think they reviewed it, which is possibly an explanation, though scarely making things better

True, as necessary and welcome as an addition to the APS-C K-mount environment this lens was, there are almost no reviews. The rare ones show it is excellent in sharpness to the edges. But it is probably not a mainstream big seller, if this is what gets dpr exposure.

Maybe so - but "don't look a gift horse in the mouth". Ricoh can use the {free} publicity.

Exactly-this is another good reason to make a comment on DPR about the award.

There's a nice reference on the cliched photo gifts to avoid, as well

"Smartphone camera accessories

I don't know about you, but I'd rather just reach for a Ricoh GR III than carry around the clunk-master above."

I'm already going to carry some kind of smart phone.

I might as well use it for the things it does well, which is a lot more than some of the people here will admit.

Maybe, but not the point.

And way too few are awarded to Ricoh Imaging's products.

Why so negative recently? There are a few threads discussing positive Ricoh / Pentax subject matter that you've brought down a notch with comments like these. Is everything OK? This isn't like you at all... You're usually more constructive

To the OP: Thanks for posting this. I'm not a huge DPR fan, but always happy to see recognition of Ricoh and/or Pentax products

I haven't used my Pentax K1 for more than a month.
All tree leaves have fallen and November was fine rain & fog outdoor every single day.
Even a blurred pinhole B&W photo of a grave yard would not be able depict how November was

January, February, March, April

May, June, July, August, September

October, November, November, November, November."

That's Denmark. It sounds like it's the same where you live.
