So post at your usual rate. @Adam's GiveAway is very generous, but we cannot have our lives dictated by it.

ps - Sometime in Autumn 2018, one of our members posted a tribute to his cat who had just died, saying he regretted ignoring it during the summer because of the contests then. I will tell you that our family's 16-1/2 year old cat, Velcro, died this morning after an extensive illness. I had "rubbed her ear" twice a day {she was suffering from thyroid problems, so the vet had prescribed a drug that was absorbed through her skin as less of an issue than pills or liquid medicine usually are} despite the GiveAway - she even purred sometimes when I was doing this - so I feel absolutely I was not changing my life because of the GiveAway.
Velcro

What a great name for a cat. I suspect Velcro was well loved and cared for and will be sorely missed.

As an FYI guys, only one hour remains to claim your entries in either giveaway!

Tomorrow, I will draw the winners of the general giveaway and post the final grand prize giveaway entry count for each member.

Then, in two days, I will draw and announce the winners of the grand prize giveway. Please shoot me a PM beforehand if you believe your entry count is incorrect.

a big thank you to Adam and others who came up with these contests

and those who posted during the time of the contests.

my hope is that those who chose to participate continue to have fun with their photography

and I hope that includes deciding to post photos and contributions to the forums in the future

Are you not ending the counters and their report so naive members won’t think they are still accumulating something that “counts” in this?

Above was sent six hours after @Adam sent his “one hour to go” message, and it appears to have ‘counted’.

The best way to handle all of this is to sit back and wait for Adam to send you a PM that you have won rather than fretting about it all. That way it will come as a very pleasant surprise. Worked like a charm for me.

She got her name because she was never very good at controlling her claws. Even yesterday, when I moved her {temporarily} from her chosen spot by the cat fountain to our bed to make it easier on my back as I applied {topical} medicine {to inside her ear}, I had to carefully unhook her when she became attached to a woolen blanket which my wife uses to keep warm at this time of year. She was very weak then - I wasn't surprised when she died a few hours later {and I dumped the medicine}.

I'm sorry for your loss but I love the name and explanation.

No worry about me.

But the counter was still running a few minutes ago when I made my previous post, and there may be some souls who are still desperately trying to earn their first "Grand Prize" ticket despite the counter telling them they have 85 yet to go. Having said he would end this hours ago @Adam really needs to put them out of their misery.

So, you will count only posts made before last midnight, the midnight between Jan 9 and Jan 10?

Haven't got a answer to a question about how the APS-C is in winter weather. Can someone tell me how well it works in cold weather?
This is a contest slot confirmation thread (not the place for speculation). That said, I will speculate that it is probably a safe bet that the cold weather performance will likely be as good as current product.
