Steve
Not at all. I saw photos which kept appearing at the top of "PYP!" - it turned out that people kept posting what I consider to be essentially the same "heavyweight" comments about them - I get tired of essentially the same comment multiple times, but doing so is within the rules.
Our definitions of words like "spam", "zombie" and "lightweight" may differ; in fact, we battled several things out when
Adam first asked for suggestions. As you will probably recall, several people suggested that people who are more active should have the 'raffle' slanted toward them, and that suggestion was followed. When
Adam announced the K-1 GiveAway, one of his goals was to make people more aware of the breadth and depth of this site, because many people seemed to be so limited to just a few sections. I believe these GiveAways
have contributed to that goal. The discussion revealed, though, that there was no other way to weigh entries that people could agree on. This thread has revealed that posting "reviews" has a potential for being controversial, but frankly no one wants to grade a 'review" as being 'acceptable' or 'unacceptable'? Like the other Photo Forum which I am a member of, this one has what I would call 'games', but again who wants to score entries? Yes, I saw people climb quickly in the daily count because of nominations, but I also saw people gain lots of posts by participating in a "game" or by other means. There are all kinds of types of posts which some people will rate as "lightweight", be it a "game" or a "satire" thread - but
Adam did the best he could, and we provided the best guidance we could. Anyone who doesn't like the results can ..... wait and spend their own $$$$$$.
