One of the members for the grand prize raffle has 19 entries, and others with 15 and 13 entries each. !! How do you do that.
Spamming the image posts can do it, e.g. "Very cool! Great work! ", as might diligently working all recent threads working backward. I don't know how many zombie threads I saw brought back from the dead with comments that were sort of on-topic.

I just followed the contest's rules and figured reviews were the quickest way to earn entries. I took all my gear out, made a list and started reviewing from my experience with it. I still managed two of those by participating in the threads without much spamming.
Congrats on that second place!

You may be slightly referring to me. I did try to add a specific comment as well, though there's some that I thought deserved a comment but could only think of the "Cool shot, thanks for sharing!". Also, I only commented on (image) threads found through 'New Threads' so they would be a day or two old, instead of restarting a 4 year old thread.

Back in September, I noticed that there would be approximately 40 days in this last month - 25 per day would reach 1000 ..... my 'goal' of ten 'tickets'. I am retired; those of us in the Northern Hemisphere are facing Winter now, and posting is a very pleasant way to spent the day, Back-and-forth in several discussions plus comments to bring current-but-underappreciated back to the front page pushed me past there. The 'winner' had to make only 10 posts per day to reach his total.

added: by "Zombie threads" I assume you mean threads returned from the dead. The first person I saw doing that was Adam, who commented on several old photos in June 2018; he eventually put limits on the practice. I appreciate comments on a photo I had forgotten - I posted one back in the 2018 GiveAway that was never commented on. Incidentally, you did not directly comment on the practice of fifty people basically making the same comment on the same current photo - is that better??

You mean like nominating?

My comment was in answer to a specific question. There are many ways to quickly accumulate lightweight posts.

Not at all. I saw photos which kept appearing at the top of "PYP!" - it turned out that people kept posting what I consider to be essentially the same "heavyweight" comments about them - I get tired of essentially the same comment multiple times, but doing so is within the rules.

Our definitions of words like "spam", "zombie" and "lightweight" may differ; in fact, we battled several things out when Adam first asked for suggestions. As you will probably recall, several people suggested that people who are more active should have the 'raffle' slanted toward them, and that suggestion was followed. When Adam announced the K-1 GiveAway, one of his goals was to make people more aware of the breadth and depth of this site, because many people seemed to be so limited to just a few sections. I believe these GiveAways have contributed to that goal. The discussion revealed, though, that there was no other way to weigh entries that people could agree on. This thread has revealed that posting "reviews" has a potential for being controversial, but frankly no one wants to grade a 'review" as being 'acceptable' or 'unacceptable'? Like the other Photo Forum which I am a member of, this one has what I would call 'games', but again who wants to score entries? Yes, I saw people climb quickly in the daily count because of nominations, but I also saw people gain lots of posts by participating in a "game" or by other means. There are all kinds of types of posts which some people will rate as "lightweight", be it a "game" or a "satire" thread - but Adam did the best he could, and we provided the best guidance we could. Anyone who doesn't like the results can ..... wait and spend their own $$$$$$.
