K-new will be released THIS year

Just sayin’

Relax, shoot with what you have and be happy. It will be a great camera

Noooooo!!! They should cancel it, instead making something truly innovative like a <whatever camera> clone!

I'm a bit impatient to see its specs... particularly the AF, but also if they switched from the Milbeaut platform.

I hope I'll be able to convince myself to wait for a "K-1 new" with the same improvements.

I don't plan to purchase one - my KP is perfect for me - but I will also be interested in all the technical details.

Someone could tell Pentax that 2020 started. The k-mount still lists the 4/70-200 and 1.4/85 for 2019. Sorry to be picky, but the 85 is on the roadmap for too long.

Pentax releases things when they are ready.
People obsess too much about the DFA* 85.

Come on the 85 has only been on the roadmap since February of 2017.

I have plenty of lenses I could sell to raise the cash.

That’s sort of my plan, too. Thankfully the KP is a darn good camera as it is.

I understand the News and Rumours section here is by definition inhabited by people who are impatient for new things, but I'm afraid on Ricoh/Pentax behalf that I'm not an exceptional outlier - I don't really care that much anymore. I have long since realized that despite upping the MP count, offering marginal gains in AF speed and better shake reduction the quality of my photos are rather constant thorugh the years and dependent on the time and energy I put into them. And I pretty much have the lenses I need.

So Ricoh have to surprise and wow me to make me spend money in their shop - which they are of course welcome to do. I suspect I'll rather be looking at a drone, an action cam or something with better smartphone integration. Something that will complement my DSLR by offering me new creative possibilities.

Now, go ahead. Shoot me. Put me on your ignore list. I do hope the K-New will be a success and you get those lenses you have been waiting for.

For me it's the upgraded K-1. A very good camera, which would be "perfect" with AF and general performance improvements.

Your needs and wants are unique to you, as are monochrome's to him, as are mine to me - nobody should be yelling at anyone else.

But there have been people waiting for this, typically users of a K-3, or even a K-5 or K-7. These are people who do not want to purchase a drone or an action cam, just to advance their photography along the line they have been following, who have been wondering for over a year now what, or even whether, Pentax will provide for them. We should all celebrate that it is finally happening!!!

It's New Year's Day. Surely the Pentax staff are still rolling on the floor in a sticky mess of last night's sake, sushi camera and party streamers.
You could at least have the courtesy of waiting until 01/02 before demanding trivial things.
