So catchy. The best part of this entire thread.
Not all - at least not if you have been waiting and waiting for the "K-3ii replacement" - because the title of this thread reminds those that it really is coming!!

That's been purported to be coming and discussed ad nauseam since 2016

Yes metric is more rational and easier to do calculations in. I remember when the US tried to "go metric"; it almost became a joke here - we just are not ready for it right now {you know that a large mass has lots of inertia}
I remember when we (Canada) went metric in the 1970's, it was implemented in stages so no big deal in the end. Gradually over the years you forget the old system, especially Fahrenheit. Every time I go to the US now I get confused with the temperature. Watching the NFL keeps me up to speed with pounds and yards...

I remember when I only knew outdoor temperatures in Celsius and indoor only in Fahrenheit. I have never had a thermostat in Celcius.

Driving in miles and buying fuel in liters in Scotland was simply weird.

Some years ago - when the price per gallon of gasoline in the US first reached a dollar - the petroleum companies tried to sell it by the liter ..... the results were not pretty.

`Some years ago...' indeed. Even I was young then.

I have an old, Mexican Volkswagen that is only labeled in kph (which my US-market iThing autocorrects to jpg...)

It feels really fast on the interstate at 120...

But at least we don’t use furlongs/fortnight for speed...

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/FFF_system

I’d hate to have to convert a focusing scale in microfurlongs or something...

I think it's better than trying to use Smoots.

Anything is better than trying to use Smoots outside of a small area of Massachusetts

On TV, I just saw several reporters holding cameras {I couldn’t tell whether they were Canon or Nikon cameras} over their heads while taking still pictures. These were obvious current ‘professional grade’ DSLRs but did not have flippy screens.

CP+ should answer your questions.
