70-210 with K-1 looks unbalanced!

With left hand supporting lens, I don’t believe in “unbalanced”.

For a moment I thought the 70-200 was mounted on a ZX-L or similar film body.

That would be pretty cool if that combo actually fully functioned.

Hi Pentax 70-210/4 owners,

is there (or can you upload somewhere) any video where the AF speed is visible?

Best ...

What you can't see in this image is that the silver K-1 is wearing its battery grip. That helps a lot.

I agree (at least in part) with reh321 though, but I know which combination I'll be taking on a long bush walk

There’s a difference between visual balance and physical balance that is sometimes misinterpreted here.

Then again, it’s a three-dimensional world.

Ah! I just noticed you were referring to the 70-210/4.0, not the 70-200/2.8 (which is indeed unbalanced, and greatly benefits from adding the grip to the body).

So I can safely assume it was a joke then

The new lens is so light, the K-1 feels like it's mounted with a prime. It's a comfortable one hand carry on the camera, and the narrow diameter makes it very easy to stow in a shoulder bag.

Took the HD D-FA 70-210/4.0 out on the K1 mkII this morning to assess its weight and handling on a moderate walk - and although it's not the lightest lens in its class (the vastly under-rated Pentax-F 80-200mm F4.7-5.6 is the winner on that score) it was comfortable and delivered high quality results consistently.

IMO it's a great all-rounder and it's impressive at maximum aperture too

Nice rendering of out of focus highlights. Doesn't seem "busy" at all. Could be a viable portrait zoom for the full frame crew?

It's too bad that there's no Pentax film camera that can mate with this lens.

should be ok with the film cams.

And with PZ-1 type, MZ-6, should also be able to do AV.

But, no AF.
Will have to manual focus.

How would a KAF2 camera control the aperture on a KAF4 lens that has no aperture lever?
