That 16-50/2.8 is PLM; on your K-5 IIs you'll only be able to shoot wide open.

I have absolutely no information... but I think in those 10 there could be some reissues with HD coatings... based on FA designs:

HD D-FA 31mm f/1.8 Limited
HD D-FA 43mm f/1.9 Limited
HD D-FA 77mm f/1.8 Limited

...and how about these revamps...

HD D-FA* 24mm f/2
HD D-FA 135mm f/2.8 Limited
HD D-FA* 300mm f/4 (based on current DA* design)
HD D-FA 20mm f/2.8

on top of some Tamron lenses...
HD SDM D-FA 70-300mm f/4-5.6
HD SDM D-FA 17-35mm f/2.8-4
HD SDM D-FA 35-150mm f/2.8-4
HD SDM D-FA 150-600mm f/5-6.3 (or even better - HD SDM D-FA 200-500mm f/5.6)
aaand might as well rebadge a HD SDM D-FA 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3

That's what, 12 already

But hopefully there will be some original designs there other than the D FA* *85 1.4...

I’d say

24/1.4
5(7)0-300(FF) 4,5-5,6
DFA135/2.8
DFA 20/4(or wider)
DFA*200/2.8

Then probably some zooms finetuned from Tamron portfolio.
That 50-300 zoom could actually be Tamron..

Then propably some good ol classic revamps.

Because they remade some FA lenses with adding only the new HD coating it is possible that in the future they do that also with the FA Macro 200mm f/4 that unfortunately is out of production by some time and is really difficult to find (both that lens and its predecessor) ?

The FA lenses that have HD coatings and other updates, but are directly comparable to the original FA product, is the FA 35 f2 and the D-FA 100 Macro. I can't think of any others that this applies to.

I wonder what the FA 28 would be like with the HD treatment that the 35 got...

The 35/2 might have made more sense to Ricoh because the FA version was still in production and they might have had a lot of uncoated elements available, keeping the production changes to a minimum.

I'd like to see the 200/4 Macro making a reappearance (in that sleek, slick black barrel with the green ring and pyramid rubber :drools if only to look at pictures by wealthier members

I doubt that Pentax would do an update and re-skin of a "Star" lens, and as good as the *200/4 Macro reputedly is, it is probably not optically up to Pentax's lofty standards for modern "Star" lenses.

Hello,

does someone know why we only find 3 lenses in the "Featured product" section of Ricoh's Star Lenses Special Site ?

Noticeably lacking : DFA*70-200mm f/2.8 amongst recent releases...

FEATURED PRODUCT | PENTAX STAR LENS | RICOH IMAGING

The 300/4 is just a little longer than 60-250/4 and about the same price, even cheaper. Can't understand the such large price difference between 150-450/5.6 and 560/5.6. Why a 500/5.6 prime for less than $2500 is not in any maker lineup? Even if not optically perfect, just a little better than 150-450.

Divide 450 by 5.6 and you will get a 80 mm minimum front diameter of the lens. Divide 560 by 5.6 and you need 100 mm front lens diameter. 80 and 100 play in different leagues. A 5.6/500 will not sell having a 150-450/5.6 zoom in the lineup for similar price. Spent your developer time on different glass to be much more effecitve.
Either go with what is available or ask for something serious. There is only a single 100mm front glass lens available these days and it was neither designed for FF nor for compact dimensions. Pentax probably needs to sell a couple more before even thinking about an update. DO/PF lenses would be wonderful alternatives, but only after a FF wide angle was presented, ...
Currently anything above 2000€/$... is not the prime hunting ground for Pentax. Establish the DFA* series at this price point and we may see something series in the future.

An oxymoron...
A Nikon PF 300 or 500 is as close as it can get. Not the brightest glass, but decent and widely affordable , lightweight, compact.
The new Canon f/11 glass are far away. Diffraction will limit the quality, speed is sloooooooow, but they used the retractable design that was abandoned for the Pentax 5.6/560.

I’m looking forward to seeing reviews of the new Canon lenses. They are an interesting approach to long telephotos. Of course, I can get 800mm f11 with a 400 f5.6 and a 2x, though I give up compactness and autofocus in exchange for a variable aperture... and I’ve never tried autofocusing an f11 lens, even in live view...

I’d love to see a DO replacement for the Pentax 400-800 mirror lens...

It's going to be interesting to see if there's a market for those Canon F11 lenses. I'd be a little surprised honestly.

As far as Pentax goes, I'd be happy to see an update of the 250-600. That would give Pentax something that competes with the very good options in that range from Tamron and Sigma that are available for Canon and Nikon, but not Pentax.

The market for the really big prime lenses like the 560 or the even bigger and more expensive options available for Canon and Nikon is really small. I'd imagine that very few people using those lenses switch systems. So even if the K-new ends up being a good body to match with such lenses, I'd be very surprised if Pentax thought it made business sense to go that way.
